I've added a few tables to a few of the pages I've done, but there's a couple things I'd like to do with them that I cannot figure out.

The first, as seen on SSC Trash Mob Details page, is to vertically align the cells to top, bottom, whatever. I tried to use valign=top in both the first table area (where class is located) as well as individual cells and could not get it to work. Am I missing something or doing it wrong? Or is it just not available? Same deal with horizonal alignment?

The secoond, on the Spell Coefficients page I'm writing, I'd like to be able to define a colspan for a particular row (i.e. to have it only be a single table, and allow it to differentiate between classes). I can do a header then a blank cell, but a center aligned colspan of 2 would look much much better.

(Maybe I just fail at inline styles for tables :p)

Yeah, this is one of those wikitable things that is NOT obvious. In order to preface a cell with style info you have to end it with a | so it knows where the end of the style info is.

So here goes...

{|
|+this is a caption. It appears above the table
!This is a header cell!!This is another
|-
|This is a cell
|valign="top"|this is a top-aligned cell
|-
!colspan="2"|this is a header that spans 2 cells
|- class="lightbg" <!-- this makes the row a differnt background color! -->
|and finally||2 more cells
|}
