Found it Iframe (was forum=10)Follow

#1 Jul 01 2008 at 2:14 PM Rating: Good
Made the mistake of loading FFXI allakazam up on Internet explorer, soon as the page started to load Spybot search and destroy picked up an Iframe from a "known malicious source" trying to load itself into my pc. The Iframe is on the start page.

http://ad.yieldmanager.com/st?ad_type=ifram
Identified as Right Media

I denied the program access but just a warning it seems alla has been hit, or so it seems.

Just a clarification...

Alla hasn't been "hit". The advertising network that Alla uses has been hit. There's a difference there. No need to go scaring all the kiddies in the kiddy pool.

Firefox + NoScript + AdBlock = win

It's good information to have though, so thanks for the heads up.

Post the problem here http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=3 and I'm sure an admin will fix it.

On a +1 note, Premium subscribers don't have that problem.

LordDamion, did you know there is a gachapon of Haruhi in that outfit? I have it on my desk at work. It was $15 but worth every penny because it's so awesome.

PM'd Pikko but if it's with the advertiser not much to do but put out a warning.

So what does this Iframe do? Just inserts unwanted ad popups, or stealing game passwords?

We'll find out this weekend during the wave of "ALLAKAZHAM STOLE MY ACCOUNT" threads that will pop up, even though they "SWARE TAH GAWD" they are using adblock, noscript, etc, etc ...

I use firefox, noscript, adblock etc, and I'm quite relieved I do now, this is one of the few FFXI sites I visit everyday without fail XD

We're looking into this, and I've passed the info off to our advertising team.

If you happen to see this ad again could you note the full path of the ad and/or what the ad is? Makes it easier to track it down out of the thousands of ads on that ad provider.

It's most likely just a tracking cookie, a lot of spyware/virus programs complain about them now.

loaded IE back up to try and find the banner ad, which is pretty easy since it's the only one my pc won't load now.

The side banner is for Living Legacy dunno if that helps but if it does happy to be of assistance ^^.
