Dropdown MenusFollow

#1 Jul 25 2008 at 10:29 AM Rating: Decent
When the site changes were first implemented, these worked for me. Now they do not.

For example, if I mouse over Items, nothing else appears. The only option I have is to click on Items, whereupon I get over 300 pages to browse through. If I don't remember the exact name of something so that I can enter it in the search bar, I can't find it.

I'm using IE V6.0.2, running on WinXP. I've run Windows Update, and there were no patches listed.

Any suggestions on how to get the dropdown menus working again?

I don't know if this is related but it might be. If I do search for an item I get tabs but nothing under the tabs. Click on the tabs and nothing happens. Says it is done.

Not very useful! arg....

I have the same problem, and I'm on Firefox. Yes, I have enabled everything on it, and it still doesn't work. Real pain in the butt when I'm trying to find some feedback on a monster or something.

Try doing a shift reload. Hold down shift and click re-load. If not try clearing cache and cookies.

Shift-Refresh changed nothing.

Deleting Cookies and Temporary Internet Files only made me have to log back in to get rid of the ads.

I've had a premium membership to this site for several years. Not being able to access it properly makes it not very useful.

To even find the page that displays zones by level I have to use google. This is WAY more inconvenient than having ads pop up, and I will cancel my subscription if the problem cannot be solved.

Sorry, I really liked this site, but it is totally broken for me now.

I've asked our devs about this, we'll see what they say.

I tried to reproduce the problem but I cannot - though I don't have IE6. It seems to work OK for me on FireFox v2, Opera v9.51 and IE v7. Hopefully the devs will have better luck or a better idea of what the issue might be.

Our devs have looked at this and none of them can reproduce it either (it makes it hard to fix something if you can't reproduce it. It's a bit like a blind man trying to solve a Rubic's Cube).

Have you tried updating IE to the latest version? I don't even know if our devs even have access to IE6 still.

First off, I'd stop using IE6. Why would you use an outdated version of something that already sucks? Firefox 3.0 is free and superior in every way. Download it and you'll never regret it.

Many users are stuck with IE6 because they access the site from work and their IT department hasn't/won't update it. They really don't have a choice.

It's quite surprising the percentage of people who still use IE6.
