Whats going on here....Follow

I feel like you guys are letting people like get away with hijacking every thread, and calling people names just for posting their ideas?

PriestoftheVoid, ("Just axe perp cost" FFXI Summoner job forums)
"I see lots of convoluted ideas to improve SMN, but honestly I think the best thing to do (aside from fixing the wonky blood pact radii and pathing issues) is to just get rid of perpetuation, and make all perpetuation reduction items into Blood Pact cost reduction items.

Who's with me!?"

Enilanerda, ("Just axe perp cost" FFXI Summoner job forums)
"You're a moron.
Can you not read?
Go to hell."

Enilanerda does this on every thread, in fact he is famous for it!? I recently came back to FFXI after a few months break and I always loved allakhazam. But I am just shocked, these forums should be here to help people. This kind of stuff is really appalling!! I feel like you guys are just turning a blind eye, and letting this site go to hell. What can I do about this, are their other moderators or people I can report this to?

Please take a look how out of control the Summoner Job forum is. I know you'll see what i am refering to.

You can Pm any of the admins with your concerns at any time. When you do, shoot us a link to a thread where this is happening so we can take a look and address it if necessary. We try not to be too heavy handed but yes, there is a line where it starts driving people away so if it's at that point, we can let the senior forum admin know and he can do what he feels is best.

Well that is refreshing to have such a quick response. Although I could not find a list of admins anywhere, or a place to email anyone. I do feel as though I am being pushed away, I made my first post about a week ago, and me along with about 10 other people were categorized as "morons", just for replying to the thread.

I can understand why you would feel that way. Here is some info for you to contact the staff here, although you can PM me directly by clicking on my name here.

FFXI Staff page: http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/FFXI-Staff.html
Our "global" staff page: http://www.allakhazam.com/Staff_Bios.html

Hope this helps get you started :)

Generally if you want an admin to look into something, it would be helpful to link to the thread where it occurs so we can see the context of the post. While i could take that text, go to the user profile and search their posts and guess whihc thread you refer to, it would be far easier (and much more likely to occur frankly) if you post a link to the thread in question using the "link to post" button on the bottom of the post.

That being said, we try to only step in when things get pretty bad. "You're a moron" is not significant enough in the grand scheme of things to warrent an admin response. The karma system and users of the site are quite capable of dealing with that type of post, and if it occurs enough they will be sub default and effectively muted so you won't need to worry about seeing them.

For the record, I did post an earlier warning about this going on.

I've been a little buried the last week or so, still going on?

Posted a reply to your warning post, but in a word: Yes. He's continuing with exact same behavior as before, even after your warning post. You can even see him threatening someone else here:

http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/jobs.html?fjob=15;mid=122653240269903760;num=19;page=1

This has actually been going on for a full month, if you can believe it.

I noticed. While I think that there needs to be a certain degree of tolerance for individual posting styles and an ability to ignore some barbs, I have also asked people to relax just a tad on some of that.

I understand people get bothered and react first in many situations or take an opportunity when they see someone else react and egg it on but my first suggestion, as always, is to not play the game, no matter how it rankles you. By giving in and reacting to someone attempting to bait you, you simply add fuel to the fire for them to find more and more opportunities to aggravate you. It doesn't make either person right or wrong but it does tell that other person that they no longer have a target.

Noted. Doing my best to not 'bait' him, but if someone posts in one of my threads then I'll answer him.

Fair enough Sylph, that's all I ask :)

I think we should just destroy the Summoner forums. They're not very constructive these days. Mainly whining about how they need changes to their job (which they do) but there's a FFXI Feedback for that.
