I'm talking about those 100 post Sages, 200 post Guru's. Is there some insight I'm missing in their posts? Are they just so overwhelming? I'm sorry, most of them seem so simplistic they deserve no mention at all. Yet they get rated excellent? Has the rating been broken? Or, does having 200post guru's somehow benefit your site?
At 200 posts it can be very easy to obtain a "status". A few excellent rated posts early on, can lead to a quick rise in the ranks. Perhaps these people post on job forums or server forums, which you don't visit, that has earned them several excellent posts. Perhaps they chat on the OoT, or even the Asylum.
Also, once you achieve a base status like Guru, your post rating is default to that standard. So unless someone rates you down, a Guru will always have good/excellent posts, thus bolstering their Guru status further.
However, because it is determined by an average of all your post ratings, with such a low count, they can lose that status just as easily and quickly as they gained it.

It's rather easy to get Scholar, Sage, or Guru at a low post count. I got my guru at 1k posts. The lower your post count, the more impact rating have on your karma. For example, if we were to have the same karma, let's assume 4.5, it would take more rate-downs to drop your karma down to 3.0 than it would mine. Posters such as Nexa would take a long time to de-guru, and a poster like Jophiel would be impossible to de-guru due to his 30k+ post count.
Titles really mean nothing after Scholar for most people. The ability to have the shiny green and red arrows is all that really matters, IMO anyway.

Some are due to ratebots. Some really are just good posters. A few are just really, really lucky.
