So what exactly did your scanner say? what's the name of the trojan? what's the file(s) and where does it install to?

All scanners will give this kind of basic information.

Otherwise I'm going to have to call this a bluff.

forum=3 [:mad].

Also, Firefox+Noscript+Adblock plus=mega win.

My scanner declared a program it has scanned a hundred times before a trojan last night... was odd, considering it was one of the older wardrobe releases that hasn't been updated in years.

In the OPs defense I received a nasty virus from one of the advertisers on this site a few years ago. Which led to reformat, firefox, and turning scripts off. Never had another problem, but I believe security on gaming forums have got alot better from all the keylogger scares. Which coincedendtly started a couple of years ago. And this site has obviously attracted bigger more reputable advertisers. I doubt Papa Johns wants access to my crappy rdm gear.

first I do use firefox at home, I got this at work, we get what we get here.
I never got the virus, I just got a warning that there was a script on this site with a trojan.

second, I posted in wrong spot, ok, but I am sure letting admins know there is possibly a virus in one of their ads would be helpful.

was there really a need for the majority of you to be complete ********?

Looks like you are posting out of Canada. There is a possibility you are seeing advertisments that many of our other users would not be, which means that this will be somewhat more difficult to track down.

We need to know exactly what information was displayed in that antivirus message. There should be a log file somewhere that would indicate any possible virus variant, where it came from, what IP address it was logged from, etc.

There is a good possibility that this is not related to our site. It may have just been some bot fishing for IP ranges that triggered your firewall at a coincidental time.

I will garuntee 100% that none of the site code on our servers is compromised in any way. We have very robust antivirus processes in play on the servers, and if there was even a slight possibility of bad code, we would have dozens of people in here reporting a problem.

Please read the thread in here entitled "how to report bad ads" and follow those steps if you recieve this message again.

We take all reports of virus activity very seriously, as our reputation is at stake if nothing else, so please provide any information you can give us to help us determine the root cause of the issue.
