Every site launch is bound to have some bugs that we didn't catch. If you notice anything wrong or are having any problems with the site, please post them here. We also welcome suggestions for changes or improvements. When posting an issue, please let us know what browser you are using, with both the type and version (for example IE7).

Thanks.

Hi, noticing some issues with new format.

-squishes the threads and unable to see avatars or poster names
-some words overlap

Using - IE 6

Usualy use FF at home, but while at work I am stuck using IE 6. I suppose I can just keep using the FFXI skin at work.

Thanks

1. Can you make the tables not fixed-width so they'll fit both widescreen and standard size monitors? Or at least have the option to choose?

2. I have to also bemoan that the "work-safe" template has gotten less work-safe with every revision. Any way to access the old template? (Also, the EQ template is now the only one with dark letters on a light background. Everything else is white letters on a dark background, which is harder to read.)

3. Specific to the EQ template, when I click "Hide Menu" to hide the sidebar, it puts a giant blank space between the top menu and the thread listing (using Firefox 3).

4. Also specific to EQ template, the threads and posts table widths stretch to fill my monitor, but the text box to write a post in is still a narrow fixed width.

I posted in an older thread before realizing that Alla made one.

Anyway, I like the dark color scheme of the forums, but I agree that the page should stretch to the extents of the user's screen like the old screen did, On the old news format, forum posts stretched all the way from the left end of my screen to my taskbar (no sidebar, no border), but now they look like this:

Screenshot

I do like the large box for typing. I can't remember if it was this large before, but I don't think it was... (My brain's on vacation I guess.)

Also, is it possible to filter the main page to only show news for the games of your choice like it was on the old new page?

EDIT: I noticed just now that the forced border size also results in scrunching up of all user pictures shown on the news face:

Screenshot

http://www.zam.com/Im/image/full?id=122310 Vs. http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/Im/image/full?id=122310 (The old size for pictures shown on the news face.)

BTW, it looks like this for me in both Firefox 3.0.6 and IE8. My screen resolution is set at 1680x1050, and I'm on Windows 7 but I doubt the OS matters.

Your Avatars

Not sure if this happens for anyone else, but it's what I got when I went to view my avy's.

Fixed I guess.

Me too.

Also, the option to change titles is broken... it says "Your title is" but there's nothing after that.

Italics aren't working on small fonts. I noticed this when looking at the "edited" not on one of my posts. To be honest, I think the note looks better without italics, but the fact that it's not working needed to be reported.

Using Firefox 3 this happens:

Screenshot

I didn't bother to log in, so that box may disappear making the menu usable, but as it is now, I can't even navigate the place.

Edit: I logged in and the box did go away. I'm guessing it's most likely an issue with Adblock. On another matter, the poster names are too small, and Scholars need a new color, it's very hard to read against the dark background. You might also want to add a few more forums to the drop down menus at the top. It took me a little searching around to find this forum on the new skin.

Hmm, the Edit Message and Preview Message buttons aren't working for some reason as well. I had to go back to the FFXI skin to post this.

Edit again: Now that I think about it, it may have been NoScript blocking the buttons.

Love the new look, miss the navigational tabs to the left on the old FFXI UI. Bring that back and make it so the page fits my screen and I'd say it's perfect.

The new look is nice but all poster type names need to be bigger or a brighter color. Its hard to see what anyone is. Also the fixed width is the phail.

I didn't notice any problems with Edit and Preview. Both of my previous posts were made from Firefox, for the record.

On an unrelated note, I LOVE having links to my post list an images at the top of the screen. I think a lot of people would like to have their journals on that quick pulldown menu also, but I wouldn't look into it until everything else is working the way it should.

I really like the Zam background. Unlike some of the others here, I like the dark background with white lettering. However, I also like my tabs on the left for finding things quickly in FFXI using the FFXI skin. Anyway to use the Zam skin but still have my tabs on the left for FFXI?

Oh thank god. Good ol' black and white print.

For people using no script, FYI you have to allow zam.com in order to use drop downs if you want them to go over banners and not under.

Which template are you talking about? The old News face, or was there a separate "work-safe" version of the site I'm not aware of? http://www.allakhazam.com/ still brings me to the new ZAM news page and all of my post links listed on the User Posts page still go to the new News face unless I originally posted them from a game-specific version of the site.

The more I use this skin the better it becomes but I miss the tabs on the left from the ffxi skin.

I like it! Especially since I play four of the games that you guys cover.

Having a little issue with FF3, but it is insignificant. Maybe a way to allow the user to make a skin consistent throughout the whole network... I would like it, but I don't know about anyone else.

Thanks for all the work!

Huh, the www.allakhazam.com skin worked before, but now it redirects back to zam.com.

Do we get to keep the old skin or not?

So new issues, can't seem to access the old FFXI.allakhazam.com doesn't use the original skin for me any more, and i have no idea how to locate the spells and abilities section it had.
