I'm not sure whether this is intended, but the spoiler begin to function differently after about five uses in the same thread. The first five tags appear blacked out entirely, with normal mouse highlighting required to make the text visible. Every tag after the first five seems to automatically make the text visible by simply hovering the mouse over it.

This thread is an example. Beginning at Kaolian's post every spoiler tag is automatically removed when I hover my mouse over it. I am browsing with Firefox 3.

This seems like a potential annoyance for people who are simply navigating through a thread. A minor issue for your already overloaded programmers to take a look at.

I think Coddy was using the black backround effect, while Kao was using the new Spoiler Tag system and with the actual Spoiler Tag, it's just a highlight to see thing.

Apologies for not noticing something so obvious. It still seems odd and too prone to accidental readings that the section would show up by simply hovering over it.

Well I'd think just hovering over wouldn't cause you instantly to know a spoiler, unless it was a short spoiler I guess.

I like it how it is, actually. I can see where one might be prone to slipping over a section, but the current system is very simple and easy to use, and doesn't require toggling the section on or off. (Though having collapsible text wouldn't be a bad thing for guides either, if it's possible.)

Even though I don't mind the current Spoiler tag system, Collapsible Text would indeed be a nice addition to the tags. I use it religiously on a couple of other forums when I make posts/guides/whatever with multiple subjects so that I can make one post seem small and easily browsed. Then someone clicks on the actual subject they're interested in, and BAM, wall of text crits etc.

It can definitely be a useful feature, although possibly annoying when used by ***** like us OoTers.

Ye Gods. Eight quotes within a collapsible tag, times eight.

You know, actually reading the replies might be useful.
