...but just in case, somehow this post ended up moving... I started a subthread, off of the one I was quoting, and added a link to the subthread. It worked fine at first, but then I changed the link so it would only come up in the news template (the "cluster" links from my posts page), and it would only link to the main thread, so when I edited the post again with a normal forum link, it somehow made a new post with everything from the old post and with the original link. After that, I edited the second post to explain that it was a double post.
Anyway... after that, for some reason, the forum moved both posts above the one I was initially responding to. Here's a picture. The left side is how it looked before, and the right side is how it looked after.
EDIT: We figured out where the problem was, but I wonder if they system is working as intended:
