Maybe I'm just blind, or whatever, but the Private Messages feature that appeared above the forum while browsing (No unread messages/bolded when you had messages) seems to be gone...
What exactly was the reasoning behind this? Is there any alert to having new private messages now? (So I can be on the lookout)
EDIT: (If it wasn't obvious, It's feedback saying the old alert thing was better, while asking what the new one is <_<)

Just to be clear about where it is .. since the linked thread is kinda long, and the part about where it is, is kinda small in comparison. At the very top-right of the pages, where it says Welcome <your_name>, it is followed by a number (telling how many new unread messages, or nothing if you have none, the link to Private Messages.

Very nice. And yea, I had finished before I clicked on the link to see exactly where it went, and just assumed it was the start of the thread, as that is what I had copied and was going to paste, when I seen you had already replied.

I miss the old alert.
On the FFXI screen, the "Welcome" text is way up in the upper right hand corner, and kinda blends in color-wise with the banner.
I think it would be better back on the left hand side, since that's where everything else is. And lower, down on the dark blue bar visible here:

Guess what? My prediction came true. I don't care about the changes anymore and have adjusted to them. I'm also boggled as to why people are upset that the tinsy tiny pm notification is gone, when the big bold white one that you actually take notice of is still there.

I like the forums where you can set it to pop up or email you, but we don't and I live with it, Tir we can cry together.
I would kill for E-mail notify on PM and e-mail notify on threads you are watching features. The two biggest return draws to a forum, and we have neither.

I've got an unread message dated September 14, 2004 in my inbox from when this was an issue back then. As long as you have an unread message, it'll always show the link.
Then again, I've also got a link list post in my journal because I've found that bookmarking things doesn't work the majority of the time, and it was easier to halfass it than worry about it.
