Histogram and price data adjustment?Follow

Would it be too out of the question to adjust the histogram to only show prices within N standard deviations of either the median, average or most common price.

Specifically I'm looking at the Lesser Flask of Resistance, which has 1 purchase at 1400g, and the rest far, far below that.

Alternately, it would be useful if the pricing info offered something like a 4-week rolling average option, so that data from long ago would no longer be considered. Even if the information was only recomputed weekly, I'm sure it would still be useful.

Is it asking too much for an official person to at least say "Yes, it is asking too much" or "A good idea, but we don't think it's necessary" or "No, it's not a good idea" or some words to some effect?

The AH histogram is potentially a very useful tool, but not if one gold-transfer or just plain overpriced item skews the results.

Also look at the Flask of Fortification. One sale of 6900g, more than 30 standard deviations away from median/average/common, makes the histogram useless. One big blue bar along the bottom, with 3 dots representing the most unusual datapoints.

I love that you have this data - I just wish it were more useful, and it doesn't seem all that hard, given that you're already computing the information.

We'll have to look at see. It's likely it won't be done right away.

Sorry for the delay getting back to you. You didn't specify which game the devs responsible for that sort of thing though it was for games other than what they looked after. We have pricing data and graphs for more than one game.

Well, I'm sure the histograms would get wonky in other games as well. But there may not be as much deviant data with them.
