On FFXI general someone posted a screenshot of one of the mercenary generals from Besieged, saying that they liked the armor. Of course some genius clicked report image, so now nobody can see it. Is there anyway to prevent people from doing this? Maybe a minimum number of reports to get the image hidden?

Seems like a nice feature of premium is a complete waste of time, as some comical virtuoso always reports the damn things and gets them taken out!

Er, they come back after the admins review the report and determine that someone was just being a jackass.

I know, but it sort of works the wrong way. It allows jack-assery to prevail.

It's back.

And yes, a reported image gets flagged for us to review. It remains hidden until that happens, at which point it's either deleted or put back in place.

I think it's fine, and admins are in and out all day long so an image isn't "reported" for long. The one in question took 10 mins to get back after the post. Some times it's just an accident, not someone being facetious.

It's better to err on the side of caution than to let a bad image float around until an admin "finds" it, which may not happen without user reporting. Just my Smiley: twocents.

Maybe if you had rules implying that if someone reports images for nothing, there will be a mute/ban, people would report only when there's reason to.

Accidents still happen. Repeat offenders are the ones who get into trouble. So Ikkian when you accidentally report something, you want to be smacked, ok

I never reported an image yet, and I'd like you to notice the extra "s" at the end of my words, implying a few times. Smiley: grin

I've reported a few images erroneously. If my browser isn't in focus and I click so I can scroll, it's amazing how many times I'll be poised over the "Report" button. I'd certainly be in favor of confirmation dialog.

I've never reported an image, that I can remember, but I noticed with the new report button on posts you have to specify why you're reporting it. Is it possible to get something like that implemented with the report images feature? It's possible that something that doesn't seem inappropriate to some people might be an issue for someone. For instance, if someone sent someone else a picture of their child through email, not related to the site, then that person uploaded it and posted it as an image on here. It might seem like an innocent picture, but there is a legitimate reason for the reporter to want it removed.

Does that even make sense...?

It makes sense to me. This would also help with accidental reporting since if you have a dialog box pop up for you to put your reason down, it also gives you a chance to cancel and not report it.

Yeah, I'd like to see it using the same method as the post report button as well, but images are a separate system, so it may be a while before we can make that happen.
