Keys don't workFollow

#1 Jun 12 2009 at 9:58 AM Rating: Decent
So if i try to hit "home" or "end" or arrow up/down, pageup/down they don't work.

Is this a known issue? Is there some reason for this? Personally i love hitting end to get to the last post of a thread but now i have to click and drag or mouse scroll through 20+ posts.

Can this be fixed or will it be fixed? Personally i am getting tired of having to manually scroll... home/end are old keys :S

Which skin does this occur on? Does it only happen when specific ads are appearing?

If you try a different skin do the buttons work again?

Which skin? uhhh lol

Also no it doesn't seem to be ad dependant.

currently @ http://ffxiv.zam.com/ don't know if that matters.

Can you try viewing the forums on one of our other sites?

The feedback forum is for issues for all our sites. It's not at all obvious which site/skin you're using to view the forums.

I'm pretty sure we don't do anything to disable particular keys. Viewing ffxiv here, and home/end,Pgup,pgDn work fine.

Which browser tho?

Page Up/Down and End works fine on World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XIV skin with Firefox. At least for me.

well it seems to only be an IE issue and i doubt anyone cares... don't worry about it then.

I am in the FFXIV forums though, any forum does the same thing. I don't know what "skins" are so i cannot help there.

I can actually click on the far left of the screen on a little piece and it lets me use the buttons again, i think IE is having issues with the layout.

How do i change skins? i checked my account info and it contains nothing.

I will double check this on other forums just in case.

edit** yeah if i go to zam.com instead of ffxiv.zam.com it seems to work fine. Whatever it is on the site, maybe the layout or something, IE just doesn't recognize it.

try using either of these links:

FFXI skin

EQ2 Skin

If both of those work fine, then it's the FFXIV skin only that has the problem you're experiencing.

All skins work with Firefox

What version is your browser? I have IE 7 on this machine for testing and it doesn't work. I was too tired to fire up the ancient box with IE6, but may later.

And for whatever reason, Yther your links are getting changed on my firefox. I cannot actually click them and go to that site skin. IMO, that's bug. Anyone else have that issue? It will only take me to whatever skin I am already on.

I believe that's so that your skin stays the same when you're clicking someone's forum link. It's been like that forever.

Yeah, I actually like when they added that. There amount of situations where it comes in handy vastly overpowers the amount of situations where it's troublesome.

Though oddly enough it doesn't work everywhere. My post list, for instance, links me to the skin that is the 'master' of that subset of the forums (wow skin for their class forums, ffxi for their job/server forums, etc).

That's because the class/job forums are part of the database and not the normal forums. (Like ffxi.allakhazam.com/db/jobs.html?fjob=1 etc.)
