Any chance of ever buying premium with AMEX?Follow
Just a request; I went to sign up for premium last night only to discover that American Express is not taken at this site :-( You can use the Cash pal (or somesuch name) site, which takes AMEX, but I'd rather do it directly. It's not a huge bother for me to go buy a gift card to use the Cash site, but it would be nice if Allakhazam offered American Express or Discover as well. Any chance of this happening?
I would be surprised if they didn't accept Discover, since Visa, Mastercard, and Discover are pretty much all joined on one Merchant Account now. But American Expres still plays by it's own rules and charges a lot more per transaction than the other cards. That's why a lot of places won't accept it.

Is this still true? I heard it used to be, but since the new millennium it has changed to be pretty even with the others (although maybe a tad higher, not a huge disparity).

Unfortunately, yes.
Discover finally conformed, but AmEx is still holding strong. But really, their rewards program is the best.
IIRC, and I could be wrong, I think it costs more to use Disc and AMEX on this end. I can inquire to if we will ever allow these options.
