Voicing your opinion.Follow

#1 Jul 25 2009 at 12:49 PM Rating: Decent
I'm not here to kick the community, nor have I considered anything of the sort, but holy sh*t was this a **** take.

I had made a thread, where I stated I was rather put back with the fact that once again, Engineers were being put two steps back again, and I got negative repped for it, and in turn lost my lovely blue name?

Surely that's not what the Reputation system ( I am assuming that's what it's called here ) is for.
All my posts have been default, decent, or good. That's 50, non-silly, informative and constuctive, posts. And because I stated my opinion in a rather valid way, and because people disagree, they're allowed to ruin such a thing?

It's honestly the people who do this, who ruin good places like here. Oh. And apologies if I've gone on for a wee bit. Pissed off at myself for deleting a good half a page rage post in the very same thread, of which I now nearly regret not posting.

You tried to hijack a hunter thread to one about an engineer, and people got annoyed. Then you commented on the fact that people were rating you down, which is pretty much like pouring blood in the water around sharks. I suspect that you would have recieved a much less hostile reception ahd you posted a new thread or in one closer to your topic at hand.

The karma system is working as intended.

You're trying to say, I managed hijack a thread about Hunters, and change it into one about Engineers, even though they have so god damn much in relation with one another ( as does everything in WoW? ) and the fact that you believe people can be penalized based on a complete nobody's opinion?

That's horrendous, and is wrong is so many ways. And my comment about the ratings, was in response to somebodies about mine. Accusing me of such things, including "fueling the fire" is outrageous. And the last part of your original paragraph doesn't even make sense.

"Had you made another topic"; ie here, "you would of received a much less hostile reception"; oh so I must now feel obliged to not voice my opinion once again, "Or one closer to hand"; And that means?

Or is the only way to get something said around here, in a whine thread? Ironically in the busiest part of the WoW boards. As you seem to be criticizing my approach to the manner, by actually confronting the staff in the one appropriate sub-forum.

I did nothing wrong, whatsoever. And because people believed different to me, I've been put down. What sort of sillyness is that?
Or am I allowed to negative rep you, and all your posts, because I've come to the conclusion that you believe penalisation without reason is fine.

If the topic was about hunters, then changing it to engineers is considered derailing. That is a no-no. He is telling you that in order to not **** people off by derailing, that you should instead start a new topic about your idea, or post in one about engineers (that's what he means by "in one closer to your topic at hand.").

TL;DR: Learn to use the internet/don't be a ********

You only have 50-odd posts. Your rating has plenty of time to recover. Set your filter to "Never Filter," keep posting "non-silly, informative and constuctive[sic]" posts. You'll get your colorful name back.

Your mistake in all of this is paying any attention at all to what you've been rated.

Eh. Yeah. I can see the reasoning behind that, and back you in that case. But silly, ignorant, comments like this;
Quote:
On a side note, this was the first time where clicking the little red arrow let me see a person's status change from purdy bright blue to dim sad blue.

; combined with the approval and defense of staff, can only worsen the situation.
Hmm.

If you are too thin skinned to survive our site, I would reccommend you find another board that does not have a karma system.
