Who designed this, exactly? The way it's implemented is absolutely backwards. You don't remove access to basic features that every forum has pending payment. If you want people to donate/pay you, you have to design new features. Do you still have to have premium membership to use the search function? That was a @#%^ing disgraceful idea. It leads to duplicate posts and all the ******** that comes with them. Smileys? You can just link a smiley hosted on another forum for free.
Instead of creating new limits and charging people to remove them, you should charge people to remove pre-existing ones. For example, make larger avatar sizes, more PM storage, ad removal etcetera ad infinum perks of premium membership. The current system is only serving to handicap usability and reduce your traffic. I have no intention of purchasing it either way, I'm simply telling you this for your benefit. It's really not complicated, get your sh*t together.

Not every forum has what people pay for here. Smileys, avatars, ability to post images etc.
There are forums where you can only post text with very basic tags such as bold and italic and that's it.
No one's forcing you to pay for anything and this site has been run succesfully year upon year so I don't think the developers need anyone telling them how their system is redundant and a waste of money.
Also, "I have no intention of purchasing it either way" basically translates to "I like to ***** and moan just for the sake of ******** and moaning". Give me a hug.
