Forum filter changesFollow

We're trying out some changes to the way the forum and comment filter settings work.

Threads under your filter settings are now displayed as greyed out, instead of completely hidden. Posts under the filter will now be collapsed to a single line summary with a link to expand them.

The idea here is to make filters a bit more useful by allowing you to still see filtered posts, but also easily skip over if you aren't interested in them.

You have your browser delete cookies on close?

Anyway, I have mixed feelings about this change. It's a good concept, though it does take away somewhat from the nice, streamlined look that Allakhazam has over places like Thottbot, which is full of "click to show this post". The only major complaint I have about this is that, when replying to a post, the post you're replying to and the OP of the thread are collapsed. However, the rest of the thread is expanded.. which means that the two most relevant posts to what I might say are the only ones being hidden. This makes no sense, and it certainly doesn't do my computer any favors in not having to load an entire thread every time I reply.

Karma system is now working BETTER than intended.

I'm having an issue with the change.

When I click to expand the sub-defaulted posts they simply disappear...

I use firefox with a noscript and adblocker.



Not a big issue, I just hit never filter as normal, but I thought you might like to know.
