A small inquiry.Follow

If I'm logged in to one of the old Allakhazam forums, why do I need to log in again to Zam.com if I follow a link there? Just curious.

I've been wondering that too. It works both ways, if someone links to a thread in the FFXI skin, I'm prompted to log in there as well.

Just curious, why isn't there an option to link accounts like there is for Zam and WoWHead?

Sorry about necroing this, I just remembered that I posted in this thread. Anyway I think our definitions of "linked" are different.

For example, I am currently logged into the FFXI skin viewing this thread. Now when I go to the address bar and edit http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=3&mid=1251997226305602116&num=6&page=1 to http://www.zam.com/forum.html?forum=3&mid=1251997226305602116&num=6&page=1 it makes me log in again. I thought being linked would mean I would be able to go from ffxi.allakhazam.com to www.zam.com without having to log in again, or is that a cookie issue?

That's the cookie issue.

"Linked" means that you use the same login info for both.

Linked as in, if you are prem on one, you are prem on both. Zam.com and allakhazam.com use the same login info, but you still have to login to both, just as you have to log into wowhead or mmoui separately, but you still have prem on all of them.
