Look down a few posts, Darq said it's in the pipeline to be fixed.

Thanks, but it's not a giant blank rectangle, nor is it related to the advertisements (I think).

I've seen it a few times, usually while downloading at max speed. A quick Reload fixes it most of the time.

This guy brought up your issue in that thread. See?

I don't think it's ad-related. Something's borking up with the CSS or the script that hides the banner.

If it helps at all, it's the new Network Sites button that appears to bug out. Appears fine to me at the moment.

Edit: I re-created the issue:

I used ABP to block that css completely, and it re-created the effect. First, check to see if that's being blocked.

Otherwise track down and delete that css, and refresh.

Finally, I noticed it comes up with a ?11 at the end. Is that passing a variable into the page generation script somehow? Because maybe it's not getting passed if the client lags.

Again, been ages since I did any form of programming, so no clue why an item in ABP would even have what appears to be a variable string at the end, may just be a glitch with the software.

Is it "http://common.zam.com/shared/basestyle.css?11"? If it is I didn't have that blocked.

It is indeed.

So if it's not blocked, it's something to do with the page generation or lag/load issues.

Actually while browsing with my phone (Windows Mobile 6.1 with Mobile Opera 9.5 with the FFXI skin) I get the same issue with advertising space covering up the right side of the top few posts. If I zoom in it's not a problem since I have a text wrap feature, but it's there in full screen. Not a big issue, but you might want to look into it.

In this case it's because of the phone's small resolution. It's highly unlikely that we will fix this for the existing skins. A while back we created http://m.zam.com so you can access forums without ads, but it requires premium.

I don't think that's the issue. If it were caused by the small resolution of the phone it should happen every time, it doesn't. It seems to be fairly random when it happens and when it doesn't.

We are looking in to why basestyle.css randomly doesn't load (may be a browser problem), but in the mean time I've implemented a temporary fix to keep the network menu constrained to roughly its proper position/size when that happens. Try refreshing the related pages and let me know if you see the problem any more.

Just wanted to update that I no longer have the issue of the network sites box appearing randomly. Thank you all.
