Allakhazam website broken. (was forum=10)Follow

#1 Nov 02 2009 at 11:20 AM Rating: Default
I am not sure if it's only happening to me, but a part of the Sidebar is now popping outside of its area and the rest of the forums appear to be in disarray. Is this happening to anyone else?

Go to the following address to see a pic of what I'm talking about, also, seems the URL button is broken too.

I've had that happen before but it turned out to be a problem on my end. And judging from how the side bar looks fine for me I would say that the problem is on your end as well.

Also, this belongs in the "Site Feedback" Forum my friend.

yup having the same problem, the sidebar to the left has escaped its border and the adverts to the right are stealing words! as with the above ads too, unsure if somone who has updated the main ffxi banner has accidentaly removed something!

Actually, this IS the forum where technical website issues get looked into, regularly. Way to complain though, McHappypants.

I'd like to see evidence to this. I see this forum is used A LOT and replied to in a timely manner most of the time, except for holidays, weekends etc.

Now I will address the topic...

How about some more info? Browser version? Are you using add-ons of any kind. What is your OS, your resolution, have you made any changes. When did it start, today? last week? Is it on all pages or just forums?

Exactly the same thing happening to me using Chrome and Internet Explorer (Windows 7x64), hitting the Go button on Chrome fixes it until I return. Looking at their screenshot they appear to be using Firefox so its 3 different rendering engines.

Yeah looks to be an issue somewhere according to a dev, just not sure where. Thanks and we will get this fixed as soon as we can.

Not sure if this helps or not, but if I inspect the element on a fixed render there are only 4 errors but on the broken version there is a 5th...

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot http://common.allakhazam.com/shared/akztooltip.js read property 'nodeName' of undefined

Obviously I have no idea what undefined is as its undefined.

Just because YOU don't use it, doesn't mean it doesn't get used.

I was having this problem but it seems to have fixed itself. Unless you guys fixed it, in which case thankyou.

If you didn't fix it, have fun finding it :/ Problems that come and go for no reason that you cant replicate suck :(

Easy to replicate by blocking http://common.zam.com/shared/basestyle.css?16 with Adblock plus

Kind of like people that were getting the boxes when blocking http://common.zam.com/shared/basestyle.css?14

Seems people are getting too aggresive with Adblock, or more likely some of the stylesheets aren't always loading properly for everyone.

I had the same thing going on yesterday morning at about 6am Atlantic time. I closed out my browser, opened it up again and haven't seen it since.
