A small link on the forum list pages (i.e.: http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html ) that sends you to the latest post in the top thread similar to the arrows in the actual forum pages, as opposed to the first post.

Too much?

Now if we could jsut get the "new posts in this forum" indicator that turns yellow or somethign when there have been new posts since your last visit in those forums listed on the forum.html page!

I've been trying to get that particular feature added for 6 years. I can wait a little longer heh.

I'd settle for getting the per-thread indicator to work correctly, rather than requiring you to go and re-read the entire thread every time a new post comes in.

Any chance you can remove "FFXI Server" and "FFXI Job" from in front of the forum names also?
#10 Jan 17 2010 at 3:50 PM Rating: Decent
And the other ffxi forum names.

Nah I just noticed that the forums names were changed from "Black Mage" or "Phoenix" to "FFXI Job Black Mage" and "FFXI Server Phoenix". Just seemed like an odd change to make after so long.

IMO the new forum names look really weird and redundant, seeing as for example the FFXI job forums are listed under "FFXI Job Discussions". Appears obvious to me without needing to also add "FFXI Job " in front of the actual job name. The tree listings in threads also now go something like:

Allakhazam's Forums > FFXI Job Discussions > FFXI Job Corsair > Dual Wield M. Kris + Joyeuse

Maybe I'm just not used to seeing it that way.

Yeah, while I definitely appreciate having arrows on all the forums, the "WoW Class" and "FFXI Job" are a complete eyesore.

Chiming in, I do agree that the FFXI Job prefix is unwieldy. It also plays havoc with lower resolution displays.
