I was replying to a thread when it got locked. Instead of getting a proper error message on clicking "Post Message", I was asked to download "Post.pl".

That's because you are an admin and are allowed to post in locked threads. It definitely does happen.

Yes it does happen, often, but not often enough to stress over it. Smiley: tongue

Except - you know - when I'm logged in as my test user :P

Oh, it didn't happen on your non admin account? That's odd. It always happens to me.

Perhaps it occured because the OP was nuked rather then banned? It was a 2-post user's wall-o-text whinefest consisting of a single run-on sentence lacking capitals or punctuation. Except for the email address... that one did have periods.

Also, who rates down a bug report???

It happens regardless of how it was locked. Whether it was just locked, nuked, or the op was banned, it always happens.

The triggering factor is usually it wasn't locked when you hit reply, but was locked in between when you hit reply and when you hit the post message button. Trying to reply to it after the lock just gives an error.

Not for me it doesn't. I always get prompted to open post.pl regardless of when or how the thread was locked.

That's never happened to me and I've been caught in quite a few postings while someone was getting banned/nuked. I think you're just doing it wrong.

It happened to me once. It's really nothing to get excited about, just close the tab and move on.
