Lucy's Item Collector has stopped working for me after it appeared to update today. It was working fine a few weeks / months ago. My system hasn't changed, yet it is now crashing a process called "backend.exe" after reading banked items and will not view items or attempt to upload them.
This process shares the name with a known worm, so... is this a legit process for the application? Why is it crashing? Why is it named so poorly?
I am no longer comfortable running this application.

I too have been having problems with Lucy since the last patch day on 2/10. First, the character profiler was not working, but that finally started working again 2 days ago. However, the Item Collector "Backend.exe" continues to crash everytime after it operates (zoning, switching toons, etc).
I am using Windows XP Pro. Hope they fix it soon..
Edit - also, starting today Allakhazam won't left me upload Character Profile updates. I get an error message- "Error: Permission denied, incorrect login or not premium" Both are correct and operating right now

Keep in mind that item collector was written around 8 years ago. backend.exe likely isn't the best choice of names but we're kind of stuck with it.
A number of changes had to be made to item collector over the last weekend. Some things have been broken for a while that we were just told about, like some odd bug in Vista/Win7 regarding profiles.
The developer who looks after item collector has been made aware of these issues. We'll get it fixed as soon as we can.

Thanks for letting us know something did change recently.
I'll point out that I am using XP aswell, so that likely was an OS which wasn't checked when the last few changes were made.

Same here with the issues and using WinXP
A solution to this problem is actively being worked on.
I just uploaded a new version that fixes a possible cause of the crashing. Restart itemcollector so it can update, and let me know if that fixes it for you or not.

Seems to work now. Didn't crash after zoning, was able to see linked items and managed to connect with the server.
Same here, Backend.exe is not crashing yet today. Character Profiler is also updating nicely... HOWEVER, I am stll getting the Error: message when trying to Upload the profile to Allah site.

It should be fixed now.
Still getting the message "Error: Permission denied, incorrect login or not premium" when I try to upload a Character Profile update. I have Premium account and login info is correct. It's been that why for 5 days now......
Amazing, not 90 minutes after making this post, Backend.exe crashed, and when I restarted it, Profile Updates started working again! Thanks someone!!
