It's essentially a perma-mute. Banning (mute + post nuke) that many posts outright would leave a messy gap in the forums.

Punishing Rog won't change a thing. The real problem with =10 are the whiners. The people that come in with next to no posts and can't handle someone not bending over backwards to help them and kiss their *** in the process. If people would grow a thicker skin and learn to brush things off, it would go much further to alleviate things in there than punishing one or two vocal members.

Welcome to the 21st century.

I, for one, welcome our politically correct overlords.

Sure you can, but at the same time I can also eat soup with a knife.

He's not the sole proprietor of knowledge.

Amusing analogy, but it hardly fits. You don't even have to be nice, but jackassery is never a better approach.

ITT: Serious brown nosing. XD

I would say good riddance, but I'm sure he'll be back if he isn't already.

Edited per Rog's request.

Seriously, though, 7 or 14 day mute might have gotten the message across.

Probably not. They could have just muted him from FFXI forums, and let him continue to post in =3, where he doesn't act that way, or in journals, OOT and Asylum, where that behavior is accepted.

Anyway, it'll be interesting to see who the next =10 whipping boy will be.

The admins did the right thing. It shoulda happened long ago. Rog was a font of information but the accompanying over the top brain damage simply washed the benefit away and then some.

We all have to color inside the lines.

Alla is a better place.

For those of us who could ignore the ********* the info wasn't washed away.

Really, just GFY. Contributing nothing on a regular basis does not mean you are contributing on a regular basis.
