IC has been updated for the December 2021 patch.
If you're having trouble patching the item collector, go to https://github.com/Gidono/akz-itemcollector and download the backend.exe and backend.md5 files and place them in your item collector directory overwriting the current backend.exe in there. Then run itemcol.exe.

Try and check the "Quiet Mode" setting, this might fix it. Also, be sure to select the correct network interface in the Settings.
My Item Collector always crashes when entering a LDoN Everfrost instance ; "backend.exe stopped working".

We had a patch on EQ today. The IC will not work until it is fixed to work with the new patch.
The IC will be in testing for a few days to make sure the new fix works correctly.

The WinPcap version (4.0.2) that comes with the installer from http://lucy.allakhazam.com/static/itemcollector/setup.exe is NOT compatible with Windows 10. I was able to install the newest version (4.1.3 as of this post) from https://www.winpcap.org/ and the Item Collector installed fine with that.

Thanks, at some point we'll be able to redo the setup program to include a higher version of winpcap. We recommend using the Windows 10 winpcap at http://www.win10pcap.org.

I uninstalled 4.1.3 and installed the version 10. It seems the version 10 does not recognize WI-FI (at least it didn't see mine). 4.1.3 sees 4 network adapter drivers, version 10 only sees 2.
It also looks like these WinPcap drivers are made by different developers so, the versions may be irrelevant.

I have used the 4.1.3 version and farmed some mobs that did not show any loot items in ZAM (Bixie Warfront zone). Though I did see updates in the log window in the IC tool, it seems it only updated the local DB file since I only saw...

and it never showed a message stating the server was requesting items. Also, the log window would not always list dropped items from mobs that the ZAM site did not have listed for the mob. For example 5 items dropped off of a vigilant soldier but, only 2 items showed in the log window and, ZAM does not have any loot items listed for a vigilant soldier in Bixie Warfront.
Lastly, the IC tool is not working with the advanced loot tool (but, I imagine you know that).

The IC collector will only update the server IF what you have locally is different than the server.

Do you run the item collector before you log into the game? It requires you to zone after you open it up if not.
If you have zoned and still don't see it picking up any NPC info at least, then it's not able to read traffic from your NIC. You might try uninstalling winpcap 4.1.3 and install the windows 10 version and see if that works for you if none of the above work.

Zoning is how I see if it work or not. Deinstalled wincap 4.1.3. to install wincap10 which seem to make it work but I still get Backend.exe has stopped working in between the collection with some invalid item in the list.

Which server are you trying this on? It won't work on the test server.

The IC doesn't add loot to mobs. All it does is add a new item that isn't in the item database, into the item database. It also updates other item information such as lore. We admins then take loot and add it to the mobs when people report that loot is dropping off of such mob.

Forums that are attached to items, NPC's, Quests and etc.. we see when people submit info to them. As we get time to read each submission, we will update.
