Who are the Jerrys???Follow
Is there something about the name 'Jerry' that means something to the Chinese anyway? At my last job, we had probably about six or seven Chinese researchers, two of which went by "Jerry" instead of their given names.
At my school, the Asian students had adopted English names so that they fit in better amoung the general population...
Maybe it is an attempt by the company to try to fit in better with the over all population of the game, while providing a somewhat common name for those...individuals...who decide to make use of thier services?

Um, the list to be concerned about? LoL, that's a joke.

Well, I understand that. We had the same thing at our university (though only about 10% of the International students I met did it), but I just thought it was interesting that we had two Jerrys in such a small sample size. Jerry isn't all that common of a name among Americans as it is.
I just Googled some stuff up, and it's not just Chinese in the US - they use the name themselves on their own continent. There's a very big Chinese film-star named Jerry Yan, and one of the Amazon co-founders is a Chinese American named Jerry Yang.

I dont know what to think about SE really. You would think they would do something about it all. One of the people in the Yahoo! FFXI groups forum I belong to (I love you guys!) made the comment about all of the Tidus combinations (xTidus, Tidusx, Tiddusxx) on HIS server, Pheonix. I wonder if it is the same company that the jerrys belong to?

I'm surprised Square allowed those names. LucasArts was *super-***** about character name selection in Galaxies. If it so much as *LOOKED* like you wrote Skywalker or Darth or whatever, you got your character yanked. A bit heavy-handed, maybe, but I have to hand it to 'em, it makes the game a little bit more immersive to see actual creative names...

Yes, I highly doubt they are just friends or family. I did a /sea all jerry and found 20.
It seems as if it goes from:
jerrya,jerryb,....jerryz
jerryaa,jerryab,.....jerryaz
and so on. That is a BIG family!! I think it is just plain obvious that they sell gil. Oh well, nothing we can do about it if SE doesn't care. I mean... yeah they sell gil, but whats more is that they pay SE for an account each month. :\
