Wow... I still cant belive how there are too few people in the game that cant detect someone who is a gil seller or not. Generally I look at a few things to determine a gil seller:

1.) Look at the gear: If you're level 50 and the person you have invited has level 20 gear and only has 1/2 of his equip slots filled, he could be a gil seller.

2.) Does he have a LS: This isnt a big alarm, but most gil sellers dont have a linkshell equiped, some do, but most dont.

3.) Look at the name: There have been a trend of gil sellers with the words "Love" "Smile" "Happy" or just has a name that looks like they just typed randomly on a keyboard like "Jyxisat" or something like that. If it doesnt look like they spent too much time creating a name for a character they are going to be known as for a long time, it could be an alarm.

4.) Partying together: The Redapples started partying together and became a spectical before people knew they were gil sellers. There are a few other gil seller parties going on now. One I know of is at lvl 50ish and they are 5 blm and a whm, but they dont need to always be grouped together. Sometimes if you invite a person and they insist on partying with another player, that could be a red flag, not always of course. MOST of the times its just friends playing together.

5.) Communication Problems: Even using the auto-translate function, talking to a gil seller could be troublesome. There are a lot of gil sellers coming out of Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam, China, Thailand, India, hell even America. Although some speak enough broken engllish to get around, a lot of them cant even communicate through the auto-translate.


For those of you that think that gil sellers dont have that big of an impaction of the game, let me remind you of what happened to the auction house during christmas. IGE and other gil seller sites had gil as low as $5 per million. That just drove the prices up to staggering heights. Vermillion cloak got up to 22million, Scorpion Harness was 18m, Haubergeon was 16m... It was all because the gil seller sites pumped too much money in the server at a time.

If you have ever partied with a player that didnt seem what he was doing, but had all the best gear for that level, that could be a bought account or a gil buyer. Remember kiddies, the gear doesnt make the character, the player makes the character.

for one, i am not one to read a whole thread that contains random posts about random topics. For one, i have no idea who Qinnydar is, ive seen em in jeuno sometimes but thats it. Now for someone to read that topic that i did and wasnt on the "inside" on the joke could have taken it as a serious post. Heaven forbid that I post a reply to a thread that I dont know is a joke. For all I knew i was pointing out some ways to detect a gil seller so something like that doesnt happen again.

Sassavi always starts a problem in ever linkshell she has ever been in and she talks sh*t about any endgame linkshell she never gets or get kicked out of and u should know that.

Ok, She was in CUKATA. and at the time yes Cukata sucked and alot of the players in it went out of their way to be total jerks. Wow thats a loooooong list of endgame shells. 1

Only other endgame shell she was in she did not leave because of problems with anyone. Was just bored of farming sky nonstop.

I've never did this, because usually I block the person and keep on with my life. And most of it is personal issues but this is a matter of style of play combined with a bad attiude.

God I hope I spelled his name right. I'm sure he's a nice guy. And has helped many along his long career, he's rank 10 and knows for the most part what he's doing. My only concern is that, yesterday I happen to come across him in two seperate parties. I was playing cor and he was sam. Tachi-Enpi > Split shot...Every party I've been in witha sam and I've been cor we've tried to do this. BUt he really wasnt interested. He'd solo his tachi-enpi as soon as he had 100 Regardless of the other melee's tp. Making sk'ing with him more effort for you than him. He had no tp call, and only anounced it in a "Doing Tachi in 2..." And didnt hold for any else's tp. This was the first party, so I let it go.

2nd party, 10 mins after the other disbands, we move to gustav. Already a shaky affair...But he still didnt give a call, So the rdm says very nicely.

Rdm:Can you guys let me know when you're about to do a sc, Its not much damage I can do on MB but its enough to merit me doing it.
Zep: Or you can just watch for my WS.

Me, the whm, and the RDM literally drop jaws. And a fury of tells begins. We go on fighting, and i send a tell to the rdm to let him know that Ihave my ws macro'd with "Ready for Skillchain" so be ready. I figured i'd just time my ws right after his even if he didnt care what my tp was. So he goes to pull and the rdm says, what just a sec.

Zep: For?
Rdm: The Cor is going to make a macro for me so I know when you guys are doing a sc.
Rdm: And if you continue with that attitude you wont get healed.
Zep: You're a noob Goodbye (disbands)

Okay. I cant say the rdm was rude by telling him he wasnt getting healed. But isnt the whole point of store tp...being able to do a ws...which does a sc...? He, in no way, tried to SC with anybody, and when asked he was somewhat rude about it.

So if you happen to find yourself in the party with him. Dont really expect to get a <tp> or a <ready to start skillchain>.
