i have partied with daggerot before with his BLM, and he was a fine player.

from what i understand about your pt setup, you didnt have the right DDs, or a enfeebler. i fail to see how damage is a whms fault.

you blame a whm for low dmg, and the pt setup being faulty. i partied in crawlers nest at 34 and if i remember right, i got 2 lvls that day. sounds to me like you just have a personal grudge against daggerot. why else would you blame the whm for everything under the sun. but then again, i dont like thfs cause of the peck-peck dmg they do. you blame a whm for your lack of dmg as a thf cause a rdm wasnt present. hmmm.

now i understand, it all seemed like a familliar story, then i scrolled back up. deamondarkhalo posted that daggerot was a bad player, and i scroll up and find that daggerot has already put your name in here for being a bad player.

seems like a revenge posting to me

as i stated before, ive played with daggerot and i think he is a fine player. i havent played with demondarkhalo before, so i cant vouch for you.

you come across now as someone whos been scorned and you only want to damage his reputation back.

this thread isnt for vengence, its to let people know about players with attitudes and faults that cant be overlooked. dont use it to try to slander someone because you were posted for being a jerk.

I agree with gameslaver. Sounds like a vengeance post to me from demondarkhalo. I also know and have partied with daggerot on and off for a long while now, he's in my linkshell and I've never had any problems with him, nor have I ever heard of anyone else having problems with him. As far I'm concerned Daggerot is and always has been a great player. I'd vouch for him anytime^^

Lol, what a revenge posting. See my post on page 1 dealing with Demon.

Ever wonder why they didn't give you leader when you asked 50 times? The rest of the group was complaining about you in /tell. You cause all of your own problems.

This thread was intended to help us watch out for people like you. After reading your post, I don't think I have to say anything else.

wow, ya know...

Alright, I don't have a single job higher than 30. Haven't been to the Crawler's Nest, etc. etc.

But DAMN, I could have MADE UP a better bullsh*t post about Dag than that.

At the very LEAST, I understand the time-honored usage of CARRIAGE RETURN. (It's that shiny little Enter button this guy has apparently never touched.)

Low-level mages, watch out for a DRG named Hudson. This guy pulls CONSTANTLY, with absolutely no consideration for mages' MP supply. He gave us no time to rest inbetween fights, and kept on pulling even with his own HP in the orange. Thus far, I've been able to hold off on using Refresh items except during emergencies in Dunes parties - with this guy, I exhausted the small supply I had with me just to try and keep afloat.

Sorry to hear that zylle that you feel that way. NOt that i dont have consideration for mages. Ask anyone in parties that i have led. Like that party that you were in, its my party and i ran it thae way that i wanted to, In fact i believe that io even warned all of you that i was a fast puller and that i try and get all i can out of Everyone before having to sit down and rest. Thing with the dunes is that when you hit lvl 19 not alot IT's anymore so if you are not chaining exp comes slow. This is not a noob talking here either, not the best player but no noob. Like sioux said with kind words i have a 52 pld and i know what im doing. Not that i didnt want the ranger to pull but i wanted to pull at my pace. I know that mostt people are going to complain about how fast i pull, and if i let the ranger pull then it would have been slower. I wanted to get out of there. To many mgaes in this game always want to play it safe and rest all the time. When they have penty of mp. Yeah 85 is not alot but when you are chaining T and VT's you dont need that much. Second question, did i get anyone killed. No, only person that died in my party is someone that i picked up coming to secret beach that chained a bunch of bats, not my fault.

Hudson was my PLD for two days running in the CN, about a month ago. DRG pulling abilities aside, he's a really nice guy, very patient and a good team player.
This situation should have been worked out in the party itself; overall Hudson is a good guy, don't refuse him invites because of this.

Thanks, sioux for the kinds words!!

- Not sure if he's a relatively bad fighter in party, but he has terrible manners when farming.

I had been in Battalia, rounding up some tigers for myself, and had a good herd going. I was initially going to bring them to a friend there, who I wanted to surprise, when I turn around and find him fighting part of my herd.

Now, I'm wearing full AF, which should be the first notification that I'm not exactly in trouble. I politely say, "Do you please mind finding your own tigers?" and proceed to move away. I turn around and yet again find him fighting my tigers. I had purposely run into a far corner of the map so as not to be hounded by any other straggling stealers, but there he was just following without a word and killing what I had herded.

I was soo tempted to just be counfoundedly angry, but I simply called him "A weakling who can't even find his own tigers" and walked off.

Watch out for jerks like him.

Taruofdeath - Literally.

So, I've worked BLM up to 12 solo, and I have a big wad of cash on me, so I figure that I'll stock up on supplies, go out to Valkurm, and get to 17 all in one run (for teleport Warping, of course).

So, I get out there, and after about half an hour of aborted parties (not trying to be offensive - I mean parties that ended up shutting down 10 minutes after I joined), I joined a party with Baiboi. We went through members like tissue paper for some reason (despite the decent XP and relative lack of death), and eventually, along comes Taruofdeath. BLM12, no sub. Newbie, obviously, but I'm not gonna hold it against him. At this time, I'm also a BLM12/SMN06 popping Melon Pies. I had juice-making supplies too, but I had yet to find a party that really made me want to use them, so I just kept one on tap for emergencies.

As soon as Taruofdeath joins the party, he starts lotting on the loot pile. >.> There were three Fire Crystals there, and he immediately lotted on them all. Baiboi told him not to lot any further, and he sheepishly agrees.

Anyway, we get going, and right from the get-go, Taruofdeath is overnuking. Badly. He's generally getting hit once per battle, but the real bad part of it is that he loses 50% or more of his HP whenever he gets hit. After a few rounds of this, I look over his armor. Two Eremite's Rings, and a bunch of Lv. 8 BLM gear, except for Lv. 1 pants. So, he dumped a load of money into INT-boosting gear but couldn't drop 400G on a decent pair of pants?

Anyway, throughout the party, Baiboi is telling Taruofdeath to lay off the nuking. Taruofdeath acknowledges him, but doesn't change his playing at all. We kill a Goblin Butcher, and it drops Mail. Taruofdeath lots, and winds up with a high roll. I /slap him, and he says "But I really want it!". Thankfully, I outrolled him, but still, he gets another lot warning.

At this point, he's apparently out of Apple Pies, so he starts asking me for some. I tell him that I need mine (which is true - I planned to be out of town for a while). He responds begging, saying he'll trade me crystals for them (crystals which he dubiously acquired, of course), and I respond by telling him that I don't care about crystals and that I want my pies. He gives up and says something in poorly-typed babble along the lines of "Okay, but it's your fault that I'm not doing awesome damage." Never mind the fact that he's already doing too much damage too quickly, and has been repeatedly party-chatting about how much he's drooling over his precious Fire scroll. Each time he does, Baiboi tells him to cool his heels and that he needs to slow down with the nuking.

So, lacking in pies, in the middle of a battle, Taruofdeath decides to go run off to a neighboring party and ask them for some pies. >.> This doesn't cause us any particular hardships, though, since Taruofdeath has now made it a habit to go AFK without notice and to not participate in a battle until halfway through, at which point he melts his MP like butter.

Then a new trend develops. We're fighting more gobs, and Taruofdeath somehow manages to get the timing down on three battles in a row such that he draws the hate as soon as the gob is about to throw a bomb. Since I'm standing next to him (and so is the WHM), that means we're getting hit too. Amazingly, he still hasn't died yet from his overnuking, though he has now leveled and is pouring on the Fire. And at one point, one of the goblins drops some Lightning Crystals. Taruofdeath lots. The party leader chastises him again, but he says "I really want to get a stack!". Baiboi threatens to turn on Quartermaster if he does it again.

At this point, Baiboi decides we should move on to Snippers, so we run through the tunnel, Taruofdeath /shouting along the way for people to /tell him if they have pies to sell. Along the way, someone aggros a Tinkerer and we kill it. It drops a Helm. Taruofdeath lots. >.> We scream. He ignores.

We start fighting Snippers, and I'm not expecting there to be a Dia/Bio problem, because up until this point, I've been the only one casting debuffs (other than the WHM), since Taruofdeath is just obsessed with massive damage. So, we fight a Snipper, and no Dia gets cast. No big deal, I ask Baiboi why he didn't cast it, and he said that he thought he saw Bio go off. I didn't recall seeing it, but no biggie, he says he'll do it from now on. And then Taruofdeath chimes in "Okay, and I'll cast Bio." NO...that's what we were just saying you SHOULDN'T do. So we give him a quick Bio/Dia lesson, and explain that he should not use Bio on crabs.

I think you can figure out what happens next.

Finally, toward the end of the party, he managed to overnuke himself into a death. I hate to admit it, but I was ecstatic to see it happen, because he wouldn't listen to us despite our many, MANY attempts to educate him, and I thought that experiencing it firsthand would help drive the point home.

A nearby PL comes and resurrects him, and during his Weakened time, Baiboi gives him a thorough lesson in how hate works in a battle, and essentially explains to Taruofdeath why he just found himself eating sand. Taruofdeath claims that he's trying, but he can't help that he's doing so much damage with his casts. This catches my eye, and so from here on out, I start watching the logs (I have long since stopped wasting my pies on this party, so I'm not getting any artificial buffs). Throughout the next series of battles, I (an Elvaan) am outdamaging him (a Taru) in nuking. And yes, I periodically get hate, but *far* less often than this guy, and I'm putting in deliberate pauses in my casting.

Anyway, I guess this turned into more of a rant than anything. Sure, he's a newbie, but you can't just cram knowledge up someone's ass and expect him to become a better player - he has to be attentive and willing to listen and learn, and I suspect that this particular individual will have a *very* hard time with that.

Lotting after multiple warnings? Wow.. intolerable ^^ I remember when a person we invited, who was taking their sweet time coming from La Theine... zoned in and started lotting. No ifs, ands, nor buts... we just kicked'm and resumed a search for a new pt member. ^^

The pie obsession is funny, in a really depressing existential SNL sort of way.
I wonder if this is a recurring addiction of his...somehow I can picture the guy logging in, sitting in his moghouse for half an hour, then having a massive spasm because his pie wears off from the day before, and he goes tearassing out of the mog.

Kinda funny to see that. Taruofdeath was in a party I was in earlier that same night and he was lotting on everything then too. I lotted on everything he had and asked him in future to let it fall randomly, our rng was telling him this also. He just kept whining that he needed the money, but after explaining we all need money and that lotting wastes time, he begrudgingly agreed.

He was also overnuking then too and it cost him his life once. We tried explaining how easy it was for a blm to take hate from a low level tank, you'd think he wouldn't be making the same mistakes in your party, as he should have learned the lesson in ours.

The pt ended when he suddenly announced that he was going to the store "back in 10 mins" the rng announced that she doesn't wait 10 mins for anybody. I had to agree with her seeing as the level spread was ensuring crappy exp for all and we were only hanging around because Taruofdeath asked us to until the lvl10s lvl up.

While I'd agree he was a bad player last night, he's obviously new and has a lot to learn about his job. He's either going to learn it and become a better player once he graduates Valkurm, or he won't be playing much longer anyway.

Angry WHM posting:

Watch out for a player named Alnoth

My story begins in San d'Oria.

Alnoth was recently added to my linkshell a few days ago. I thought nothing of it because I trust everyone in it. I love everyone in my linkshell =).

I was doing some teletaxi'ing, when Alnoth kept on asking people in my linkshell for a PL. This character is supposedly a new one and he had a level 30 character in some other account and he was a level 3 WAR who wanted a PL to 5. We tell him that if you can't level to 5, there must be something wrong with him.

Later on, I brush it off and say, "Sure, I'll go PL you, but only because you're in my linkshell" (I generally hate PL'ing people, and I usually do it for only close friends and linkshell members).

I got him to 5 and he was happy, and I go back to San d' Oria on my merry way, back to Teletaxi'ing. By this time I had worked up a good amount of money, a little over 10,000 gil, so I'm happy as a plum.

A little later he comes back to me and says that he needs an escort to the Crag of Holla crystal. So I say, "Sure".

He says "Could I get 5k for a piece of equipment".
"Sure", I said.
About thirty seconds later he says, "Could I get another 5k, its worth 10k". I give it to him.
He then says, "Lets see how generous you really are, Give me another 5k"
I thought he was joking. So I say, "No thanks".
He says, "Gimme 5k, and you can blist me and I'll leave you alone"
He spams that several times.
"Gimme 5k, and I'll leave the linkshell"
So I tell him, "GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY"

Several minutes later (After a large string of cursing on my part), the linkshell leader (Kotum. My Hero!), broke Alnoth's Pearl.

Alnoth is the first name I've ever placed in my Blacklist.
He may go by a different name since he supposedly has a different character somewhere. He insisted on being called "Bob" during his time in the linkshell, whether that helps anyone or not.

I hope this has been helpful.

*hug-hug*

/cry
*kiss-kiss* to Kotum

/em rips out Alnoth's [Galkan Sausage].

He does the same shit to me in Pashhow. Not that I am training anything there, but I will run up to a Goob not thinking anything, pull out my bow (which ain't the quickest thing as we all know) then suddenly someone casts Stun and claims it, and this Cotuma fucker is always behind me when he does it. I can see not seeing someone out of the side view, as I use PS2 and the chat log fills half my screen, I have been known to "swipe" a mob or two but it was not intentional. But this fucker is behind me a decent distance and does it everytime he can, like he owns the place and you are in his way. Fat Galka DRK *******.

He does it to me too, but I'm rarely there anymore (I've seen you stalking Goobbues though :p). I cook, so I need water clusters so I naturally camp the elemental there, since it rains more than Florida there. And since it takes awhile to respawn, I kill leeches and Aspir crabs while waiting.

Guess who likes to kill Leeches too? I won't whine about losing a regular monster to another person who might be doing the same thing as I am, but I WILL whine about being stalked, because I moved to the second spawn point of the Elemental to get away from him and sure enough...

Funny part is, he didn't expect me to cast Holy the first time. I got spam checked and LOVED it. :D

Battosai-

ARG he's done a lot of crazy stuff to many people..But this is the reason i dont like him...

So i'm in CN looking for my RDM AF boots.. (this was like.. 4weeks ago..) and i get a /tell asking me if i can help him with a mission. i had never met this guy before. so i was like "srry i am unable to.. im busy atm" then he keeps asking me 3 more times.. so i finally gave in "OK ILL HELP U!" i say.. Well.. i go to meet the pty in jeuno and hes leader. He tells me i will need an instant warp to get back.. (at this point i had never bought an instant warp b4 and didnt know where to get them) so i asked him where. he said " i dunno, try the ah" but they were not in ah. so i asked the pty and they told me " ohh its sold from guard for conquest points" and he made fun of me in pty saying " OMG u DONT KNOW!!!! LMAO!!" even though HE did not know.. Later on e are chocoboing to the mission place and he just keeps being a smart *** just making rude comments about how great he is, and how stupid everyone else is. hes VERY hard to get along with. i only stayed because i had an ls member in his group or i woulda told him where he can shove his staff.

Moral of Story: I have also herd he stole someones leaping boots.i would not lend him anything if i were you people ^^;; he is also VERY ungreatful for peoples help.. last time i HELP HIM with a mission.

Cutriss, why didn't you guys just boot him after he had overnuked too much and lotted after you told him not to? I think it's partially your PT leader's fault for not doing anything sooner. I would've booted him within the first 10-15 mins.

thank god I have no jobs in dunes anymore >_>

I think I booted a bad blm once in the Dunes -- and then got all kinds of hated-on by my party. "Why you do that?" "Now we gotta find new blm...wtf" Me: "Uh, gee, I'm sorry, I'll run out and reinvite the whiny ***, overnuking, meleeing blm..."

><

Perhaps risking party members being annoyed that you tossed a key job is the reason party leaders tend to avoid booting bad members. Personally, I've found the best way to deal with bad members is either 1) wait for someone to hate them as much as you do and threaten to leave. Boot the bad member, explain what happened to everyone in tell. This is especially useful if the I'm-gonna-leave party member is a key job also. 2) If you have an LS member or friend playing a key job in the party, tell them what you are going to do, and then pretend they were gonna leave.

I hate the Dunes with a passion these days. Back in ye-Olde, there wasn't a PLer for every party (or two!) and it was actually a challenge and somewhat fun to go and try to coordinate a bunch of newbies. Now, everyone there has a PLer friend -- it's not much fun anymore. I've asked PLers to leave before if I was leader -- I mean, I want to play, not have my playing done for me.

Well here is my two cents...

Illusions A friend of mine and I where in this party with Illusions as the leader in the Dunes. We decide to hit the beach for Crabs, we get there everyone gets ready and we pull. Halfway through the fight for some unexplained reason Illusions pulls another Crab, party turns to chaos... Illusions starts to run calls us all a list of nasty names and disbands the party, he was the only one who got back to Selbina alive. Tried to find out what happen, but got no responses...

Rus and Shad My LS was doing a San d'Orian Eco Warrior and headed out. Everything went perfect all the way through. We killed the Necroplasm and right as it died and we were all starting to rest (and go to get the stalagmite) here come Shad and Rus with a HUGE train of Goblins...they sick them on the alliance and all 18 people die. Turns out a friend of theirs wanted into our Eco...and their friend had dragged his feet getting ready (like an hour), so we never included him. He complained to Rus and Shad and they extracted malicous "revenge". We contacted a GM, all of us...and they were banned from game for awhile.

On an interesting note, everytime after that I ran into Rus, he has been very polite and nice, I've even gotten a few free Teleports from him, so I treat him politely in return... Interesting how far people will go for friends, I understand to a point, but a lot of the people on the Quest had no idea that their friend wasn't included...oh well it's done now...

^^

Partying Yesterday in Onzozo and This has do to be the worst Nin Tank i have EVER partied with. I was Main healer due to lack of WHMs on and he could not keep the hate at all. If i were to Cure 2 the RNG after pulling or Haste the NIN and THF i would Immediately get Aggro almost dieing on Numerous Occasions with Stoneskin, Blink and Phalanx up. After that i was afraid to ever Cure 2 let alone Cure 3 or 4 at times. If is wasnt for our Bard (Snoopywoopy)(SP?) and our BLM(i forgot your name i am so so sorry) our party would not have lasted as long as it did(1hr and 5k Xp).

I'll probably get karma-nuked for this, but I don't think we should add newbies to this list. We all didn't know what the hell we were doing back then, and the new newbies do not either.

Besides that, if it's a particularly annoying/idiotic/bigot of a player, then by all means add them. But condemning someone for being new works against what we're trying to do with this thread.

That being said, I'd like to condemn all the idiot gil sellers in Gusgen mines.

I was making silver bullets the other day and one of them offerred me a rather high price for a stack of silver ingots. I declined, and then he immediately offerred the going price on the AH. I declined again, and he then annoyingly continued to badger me and offerred 25k, which isn't a bad deal, but I don't really need the ingots. I then tried to see how low he would go, and I offerred 20k, way under their worth. Then HE got annoyed, and said 25k. I then offered 22k, after which the guy started to yell at me and tell me 25k, no lower. I then politely said [Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass.] and logged out.

I just find it ironic that these guys get upset when you badger them just the same when they badger you.

Anyway, watch out for the gusgen gang. Most of them are pretty nasty and won't think twice about ******** you over.
