Just for some perspective --

Anybody who reads this thread without taking the names and stories with a grain of salt anyway is a fool -- human error is rampant, there are plenty of variations on names, and it is easy to mispell, and to mistake someone's intentions.

That being said, it's just as rude to question the entry-maker as it is to mistakenly enter the wrong person, or have the wrong info.

I would also be questioning the rest of his party in this matter. They had to go along with it to some degree.

When I have spent 20+ levels in the same set, done missions, numerous AF parties and personally witnessed actions that contradict the posters claims, that is exactly what I will do. As should anyone who has witnessed the contrary by anyone put on these lists.

My original post regarding all of this was in the Players To Watch Out For - Discussion Thread as I merely wanted clarification on the name.

Thank you Ixarea. :) Also Eldriss--anyone who KNOWS me from my ls, friendslist, or otherwise would also tell YOU that I have no reason nor would I lie about such a thing NOR would I make it out to be something it wasn't.

Dremar,
Rather that you thanking the people who side with you and talk down to the people who question the post, why dont you have some of the people you claim told you this from his pt and some from your own.
That in itself would be enough to give people the info that they need to make a decision and it will also strengthen your claim and thus become more than just a case of your word against someone elses.

Also, because someone is on your friendlist or LS hardly makes them a viable judge of whats right and wrong. This is a virtual world that people use to become something or someone different than themselves, that being said, do you really KNOW them. I doubt it unless everyone on your friendlist is family or personal RL friends, and if that is the case, you may just be unsocial.

Krackhead--I didn't just thank people who sided with me or defended me, I also thanked Eldriss earlier in another thread where we were talking about the same thing. I already NAMED several of the people from his party-Ackum, Triantus.

Besides, why do I have to prove myself? I really don't understand it, as you seem to take what everyone else here says as true fact. My goodness, if I had known everyone was going to scrutinize me so I'd have just refrained from posting so you could find out for yourself when he mpked you...difference is, when you posted it here, I wouldn't have had me and everyone else treating you like that bad guy.

Zar--Die...just...die. LOL

I don’t see Dreamar talking down to those that disagree with him. I see him taking other peoples disagreements to heart and trying to defend a point that perhaps really doesn’t need it.

I don’t think anyone believes Dreamar is lying, but perhaps they just find it hard to believe that someone they know would be so callous in nature.

But then, by your own admission Krack, no one really knows anyone in this game, and therefore, by that reasoning, does anyone have the right to have any opinion for or against another player at all?

This thread is an opinion thread though. Opinions derived from peoples personal in-game experiences with other players.

I neither support nor oppose Dreamar’s accusation, but I do support his right to his “whining like a little girl”. And I’m actually glad to see that some people have posted in favor for Nasi. It helps people like me, an outsider, to make a more informed decision (if I actually used this thread to decide who I believed to be a bad player).

I just think Dreamar has taken other peoples posts to heart as a personal attack against him, and that it's all just gotten alittle out of hand.

In all honesty, I think anyone that is mentioned in here deserves a chance at redemption. If I've never partied with someone mentioned in this post, I would still party with them and give them the chance. If they live up to their reputation then, either they go or I go.

A perfect example is this Nasi thing. I don't know him and have only seen his name here. Dremar, I don't believe you're lying and anyone that posted in Nasi's defence, I'm sure you're all truthful when it comes to your dealings with Nasi. I for one will give him (and anyone else mentioned in here) the benefit of the doubt until MY personal experience tells me otherwise.

One strike and you're out, or I'm out or whatever. Just my humble opinion.

Apologies to any flat toes. :)

The problem with this thread is this, that it gives a voice to people that hate each other to slander one another. There are people on the server that would feel that I should be on this thread, but from the people that have interacted with me that also post here should be enough to just contradict their argument.

I dont think this thread is helping anone out, other than start anomasity between people on this server. I dont know, but people in glass houses shouldnt throw stones.

I dont know Dremar and have absolutely nothing against him/her. I am simply asking for a little more than one posters word that this happened as it was originally posted.

Its all in the details. I was simply playing devils advocate to try to get more ACTUAL FACTS rather than hearsay. Im not going to join anyones witch hunt simply because someone says that it happened that way.

If it happened the way you said, you have every right to post this players name as I would do the same.Im not saying I dont believe you but As ive said 3 times now,it would be nice to hear from others in your pt and not you simply saying "this guy said so, and that girl said so".

It your job to supply the burden of proof.Im not going to slam anyone based on "someone said"

Also, yes, you were quick to thank those supporters of your post(scroll back and take a look) and I would also support your post
if it supplied a little more proof.

I apologize if my questioning your post offends you.Fortunatley, I am not a tool so I need a little more than what was posted to make a decision.

Anaiya, everyone has the RIGHT to post what we want. Nowhere did I say they didnt. If you took offense to the whining like a little girl part, than thats for you to deal with. I also have that right. It goes both ways you know.

Rather than turning the "Astral Rings" thread into even more of a flame war than it is becoming, I'd like to take my final point here.

My addition to the list would be Hiptaru.

I'm sure he's a great black mage, with all the best equipment, who selflessly gives of himself in order to pull chain 5's all day in experience parties. My gripe isn't about that, though. I've never partied with him and never will, if I can help it.

See, Hiptaru is rich. And frankly, I'm jealous of that. We all are - we all want so much gil we just can't decide whether to grab that Scorpion Harness or to level Goldsmithing up to 90. My gripe is how he got that money.

Many people have cited that FFXI is a community game, or something of that nature. Many people also point out that FFXI's economy is a free-market economy. Both are true. Hiptaru's actions in making gil have done nothing but detract from both.

First he runs his casino. Perfectly legal, made him wads of cash, but what did the community end up with from it? The chance to /random. Effectively, he made money just by asking for it.

Second, he tries an Astral Ring scam - at a time when the market is in doubt, he buys all that he can get on the auction house, and tries to sell them for 6 times what he bought them for.

All of this is good business, the American dream, what have you. But it comes, simply put, at the expense of the community.

The hope of a free market economy is that through the natural interaction of the markets everyone is better off. Creating a monopoly gives to the monopolist at the expense of the market (there are cases for a natural monopoly, but his isn't one).

Hiptaru is concerned only for his own pocketbook. His get-rich-quick schemes have been effective, but unlike miners, fishers, crafters, gardeners and farmers, have given nothing to the community. He is a leech. People then tell him he's not a nice person for doing the things he does, and he gets very defensive about this, citing the fact that everyone is jealous of his gil, and because people hate him he is famous and has truly made it.

Good for him. There are people who will defend him, and they have their points. But plain and simple, he is, and always will be, a leech on the economy, and for this reason, I list him as a bad player.

I'm done whining about Hiptaru now - you won't see me do it again.

Edit: Changed closing line.

And /goodbye karma.

Stop being Jealous, let me play my game.. I am not a bad BLM, adn i am not a bad person, there are about 3 or 4 of you on the boards that act like a 5 year old, running to thier mommy when i do something you dont like.. Grow up... its getting old.

Deep breaths everyone.

Here's another take on the events in question.

It is possible that there was some kind of disagreement in that particular pt pertaining to whether they should move camp or not, due to overcrowding.

It is possible that Nasi pulled the bomb to force an escape on his pt in the hopes that they would pick a new camp when they returned.

Just another possibility, mind you. I wasn't there AND I don't know Nasi. Just posing another possibility, with the point being that this wasn't necessarily an MPK. It depends on the context.

"Do that again" is pretty vague in and of itself. Without the full context of conversation, this could be anything, and Nasi could have aggro'd a bomb on accident too.

Count me outta this. I'm not jealous in any fashion. Ask anyone I know or have played with in-game, I won't even accept hand-outs for a damn chicken if I can avoid it. Makes me feel better to work for my gil, not have it handed to me. Like I said before, Hiptaru might be a nice guy IRL or even in-party/LS, who knows. And if you want to buy something for 200k gil and list it for 300k, kinda shady but whatever. But to increase the price of something almost 500% and buy all that are currently available basically FORCING people who want/need this item to pay this amount or go without is just childish and mean.

Ever think of that player who has been mining, farming, not leveling any other character with a certain price goal in mind. They happily reach that goal to finally one day rush up and get their shiny new ring to find out alas, they are all gone?!? Then suddenly they hear a /shout for them! Once again, heart racing they flee over to this character in hopeful expectations to find out they are gonna need about 5 times as much gil. You have just ruined that persons day. For that, shame on you. You do stuff like this only thinking of yourself, not of anyone else. That's what pisses me off, not the fact you have uber wallet.

Is it really the responsibility of the people reading this thread to determine the veracity of any statements made in the thread?

It was my initial understanding that this thread was a channel to express gripes or declare "shenanigans". That being said, in the current case of wether or not Nasi is a ****, shouldn't praise for that character be taking place in the thread dedicated to warm fuzzies or huggles or what have you?

It is obvious that Nasi is widely known to the people who are active in this thread about gripes. Unfortunately, because I wasn't present at the incident, I can't say for sure what happened. Regardless, a post on a message board will not get Nasi added to my blacklist. It will also not prevent me from playing the game with that person. It will keep me on my guard should I ever have the opportunity to do so, however.

I would like to see common sense applied here, in that the opinions expressed by the people posting are just that, opinions. It would be easy to abuse this thread with reactionary posturing and opportunism, but then any use for this thread will be lost to namecalling.

I have an extensive blacklist. But my blacklist has a criteria and serves a purpose, to better assure me of having fun while playing the game. However, since a majority of the people on my blacklist are there because of *personal differences, I feel it is not my place to make my list public, and I would hope that the people frequenting this thread practice similiar discretion.

by the roadside

Speak for yourself, I'm not jealous of Hiptaru, I don't even have to worry about him. I'm sure he knows why.

Everyone, read the first post. This thread is not intended to defame, it is intended to warn people about players that are detracting from a fun experience. Yeah, you can defend a person you know, but do so with a positive experience, not just "he wouldn't do that." etc. Fight facts with facts. If you can't, how are you going to prove you're right? People are fighing over opinions. People are entitled to them. If a person feels that they were wronged, they post it here and explain their experience. If you have a counter experience, post it, and then leave it at that and let other players decide for themselves.

Now take any petty arguments to PMs.

No, he didn't do it to force an escape on his party. He specifically told them that if we came back in there (as in my party) he would do it again. And if he wanted his party to escape, he would have pulled the bomb to -his- party, not have stopped dead still right in the middle of my party for the escape. And even if that were what he was doing (which it surely was not) it would have been VERY rude for someone to sacrifice another party just to make his move.

I honestly don't care whether anyone adds him to the blacklist or not, parties with him or not, or keeps on their guard around him or not.

What I *do* care about is that my party was maliciously killed by a person who was, at the time, being very inconsiderate and selfish and instead, I'm the one on the defense here--being told to provide evidence (even though I've given you the name of a GM, 3 of his party members and 1 of mine). Trust me, none of you would be very happy if someone mpked your party, you posted it here, and then you had 10 people acting as if he was too perfect to do such a thing, and therefore you must not be telling the truth, or you "weren't telling the whole story."

Feylonia:

Fey Fey
----------------------------
LS:  The Fallen Angels (HNM Class)
URL: http://www.fallenangles-ls.com
LVL: 61PLD/30WAR (Mithra, Rank 10)
OTH: 10BLM, 18MNK, 10RDM, 55THF, 22WHT, 10BRD, 5BST, 5DRK, 20DRG, 31RNG, 20SAM, 10SMN
SRV: Bismarck

WAR/PLD who fell asleep as in PT she was leader of, also while main tank. After about 15 mins, our PT disbanded & reformed next to the AFK Feylonia.

approx. 1 hour later, Feylonia wakes up, and proceeds to drag 2 huge trains of mobs (then zone) onto our exp'ing PT, resulting in deaths. After 2nd time, very quickly logs.

Upon seeing Feylonia next day in Behemoth's Dominion, the following conversation ensued (this is the best I can remember it, been a few days):

Yuki: thanks for training all that stuff onto our PT, *******

(seems Feylonia is afk or asleep again)

about 15 mins later:

Fey: anytime, **** FACE (I think she spelled it F$#K FACE)

Yuki: what's your problem? You're the one who fell asleep, trained all the mobs onto us, people died. We didn't do anything

Fey: I fell asleep for a long time and my little brother did all kinds of ****** up **** with my PC, *******.

now, at this point, Fey has just confirmed for everyone that:

1. she fell asleep in PT she was leader and tank of, for long time
2. her character trained mobs onto our PT
3. she's very unapologetic about the situation, in fact, I'M the jerk here

but, only thing I've done is call her "*******" based on the above truths. If I'd fallen asleep in PT I was in, tank, leader or no, I'd be apologizing, even if someone called me *******.

Yuki: what are we supposed to think, we saw your character drag all that crap onto us

Fey: you could ask what happened, don't jump to conclusions, you ******* MORON!

here again, Feylonia takes the high road and logs seconds later.

Feylonia, I know what happened (see above). Falling asleep is bad enough. I don't even really believe you about this little brother **** either. Getting down into Garliage to pull several aggroing mobs then training them onto a PT, then zoning takes some skill actually. If your little brother did this, he'd have to be a FFXI player himself I think, and I can't see why another FFXI player would do that, it would ruin your reputation among other things.

also, somehow I can't imagine someone falling asleep at their PC so hard that they don't notice someone then using said PC for 10-15 mins to do complex things. Maybe I'm crazy.

Even if it WAS your little brother, this is still very irresponsible, and you should apologize, not go off at the mouth with foul replys to people who YOUR CHARACTER GOT KILLED!

thank you

Did I say don't play with them? NO! All I did was post IN THE PLAYERS TO WATCH OUT FOR THREAD what HE did to me, and then people like you began immediately bashing me and acting as if I'm lying. Honestly, it's ridiculous! Stop twisting my words please! I DID provide proof. I gave you FOUR players names including a GM that you can ask if you do desire. AND I'm not REQUIRED TO PROVIDE TRUTH, I know it happened--and YES, it happened. I don't understand why no one ELSE in this thread gets scrutinized, and yes, when anyone else says anything, most of you who are questioning me do seem to take it without question...now, if you questioned everyone, that would be one thing. But the fact that I'm being scrutinized so heavily just because you love the mpker is quite annoying. Now, if you'll excuse me...Thank you. ^^

Edit: Oops, sorry, I'll try to get this back in there.

See you lose people on comments like this, if he was close enough to be in the middle of your party and still be within the escape spell range, you were indeed on top of his party.
Regardless no one called you a liar, so quite saying they did.
Jeez, everybody's wound up a little tight on the forums this week... myself included. Gotta love holiday stress ><

Zuyobleceh

SO I was in the Crawller's Nest and finally got a PT invite. Well all day someone had been training mobs of Cralers, including a soldier, to the entrance. So people were constantly dying. Well before the PT had entered the Nest I warned about said mobs. One player names Zuyobleceh just decided to make his way to where I was, and died. He let out a string of profantity upon his dearth. Okay I can understand the frustration. NO problem, I don't swear a lot, but whatever. They sneak/invis and start making their way to the inner nest, and there is the train again. Well they all get through except Zuyobleceh who doesn't wait, and chains the crawlers yet again. THis time he started yelling in the party a bunch of swear words which included f$&king N$gger. I couldn't believe it! I mean that is about the most racist thing I have ever heard in the game. He has a rotten attitude, doesn't listen to warnings AND he is racist.

No, we were -not- on top of his party, as we were all the way down the -stairs- from his party...at least until he decided to use escape.

-I- am having to say the same thing again because -everyone- else keeps saying the same thing. Sheesh, might as well crown Nasi king of the world. >< That really pisses me off. *sigh* But what can ya do?
