You know you been playing waaaaay to much FFXI when you are on the phone with someone and say something from ingame.

I was talking to my mom awhile back and she said something funny and I said LOL! She goes "What?" I said oh nvm....

And another time I was out with some friends at the bar and I was a bit tipsy and someone said something funny and and blatted out LOOOOL very loudly. Everyone kinda looked at me funny...and my friend said... Poor ******* been playing too much FFXI Online. The whole table exploded into roaring laugher... (Coarse they were all drunk too)

anyone else have this happen?

I say BRB and STFU all the time.

I prefer to laugh at people right in their face though.

When I play a game too much, I act like if I was in-game, sometimes moving like the chars, saying usual sentences from the game, etc ...

Not earlier than yesterday, working in a supermarkt, when something wasn't being scanned by the ray, I was poking it and saying "{Hello!}?" to it ...

Or while I was fixing a drawer with my brother's girlfriend, I told her "{Screwdiver} {Can I have it ?} {Thank you.}" almost every time I needed it ...

In the morning:

{Cereal} {Do you have it?}

In the afternoon (at the pool):

{Sunscreen} {Where?}

In the evening:

Mom: Hunneeeey.... Aqua Teen Hungerforce is on!
Me: {ATHF} {Yes, Please} {Long time} {fun}

.... Of course I think these things.

Hmm, not "LOL" (or in my case, "lolz")...

But I have found mehself usin' kewt lil expressions from the game like <excitement> & <sweets>...

I've also used "uber" & "nooblet" in irl convos... =P

Hehe, I'm sure there are other lil quirky terms I say unconsciously...

I use the word "noob/nooblet" after I "own" my friends (I also use "own") at Halo or something. Racing games too.

Them: Damn dude, how often do you play this game?
Me: Only when you come over here, really. I'm just uber.
Them: What's uber mean in english?
Me: The hell I know, you took german.

It was something like {Thrpne Room} {Lizard} {Liquefaction}

I've never actually said any of these things in person. When I first met one of my current roomates and he said "roxxors" in common speach, I wasn't sure whether to be scared of very amused. My other roomate says "pwn" a lot too. I live with scary people! XD

Also I lub Chid and her cookies :S

I've said "lmao" once. I blamed it on my allergy meds. >_>

I do say "rofflecopter" quite often but mostly just to annoy my sibling. :p

This has been rather entertaining LOL!

Heh hello Chid^^ Thx for the Rate up!

And Kaiko I have found the most entertaining RR translate to be:

{Throne Room}{Drain}{Lizard}

I was reading something on Chid's Site, and she was right...alot of my friends see FFXI as a dull obsession when really is teh most social life I have had since my good friends either moved away married or got deployed. One of my friends who was UBER anit-FFXI recently made a Galka on my account and now he is addicted. He got to lvl 10 in 2 days with no sub, and only a PL past 7.

I was thinking of another ingame saying.

My friend BJ was in the kitchen and I said...
Coke, {Can I have it}? I just got a weird look...lolz

Ok now maybe it's just my blasted sanity kicking in again (no matter how many drugs I do can't get rid of it) or are we talking like have I ever said like "Laughing my *** off" such as...

"Holy Sh*t man that movie was great I was laughing my *** off!"

Or are we talking have I ever said "L-M-A-O" such as....

"Holy **** man that movie was great L-M-A-O!"

If the former quandry is the case then yes indeed I say that all the time, however that expression is not used soley in the MMO comunity, to laugh ones *** off is a very common expression that I can remeber my parents using when I was just a sprout.

Now as to the latter, no I am afraid I have yet to actually use "L-M-A-O" in any real life instances, I personally can not even imagine using an acronym in such a context. I do however readily admit to using such phrase's as...

{Penta Thrust} {Mithra} {Fun} {Hole} {Long Time} {Yes Please}

{Bio} {Break}

{Beer Run} {Can I Have It?} {You Can Have This} {Beer!}

{Wootz Ore} (Replaced plain ole boring whoot with this one)

{Sweet William} (Yep you guessed it no more SWEET JEBUS!)

and my personal favorite, when confronted by the masses of Anti-MMO zombie neophyte cultists and berated by questions such as "Like OH MY GOD! How can you waste your time playing a video game." or "Hey wanna go hang out at the mall" or "Umm dude your looking kinda sick maybe we should take you to the doctor" I simply reply "{Choke} {Child} {Drown} {Wife} {Leave} {Job} {Play} {Final} {Fantasy} {Thank You.} {Good Bye.}"

So I guess the answer to you question Sir Harker is yes I have been known to say some things from the game in real life and let it be know that it is my solem oath, that the next time I encounter a friendly gathering of my trusted associates. I will blurt out as many inappropriate acronyms and game terms that I possibly can. ^^
