Hello everyone ! I just got back from this event and I was very dissapointed. For those of you that wish you could have gone, don't sweat it you did'nt miss much. Arena 51 is a very small cyber cafe with about 50 PC's. There were maybe 100 people there around 2 P.M. when I arrived and I only stayed for about 45 minutes. I seriously thought I was in the wrong place, lol. In the room with all the PC's they had competitions going on for prizes, they were giving away atlas's ........ Besides that there were 2 developers in the corner that just smiled, did'nt speak much english and you could not go up to them during the competition. I was really bummed,I was hoping to atleast have a short conversation with them but could'nt.

And as for items for sale all they had were t-shirts for $20,sandoria,bastok and jeuno,no windurst.. they said that they sold them out in vegas. So I handed over a twenty for a jeuno shirt,I had to get something. There was another room two store fronts down and they had about 12 tables set up with "Hi my name is" tags and placement cards for different servers like ramuh table, bismarck table, etc. This was where people waited to join the competition. Thing is that I play on a PS2 so I had no idea how to play on a PC and it ruined it for me.

Other than that a couple people were wearing costumes but nothing really that great. However there were two really cute chicks dressed as mithras that came with the tour. They were walking around, getting pictures taken and signing t-shirts. I was'nt about to let some girl dressed in a costume scribble all over my over priced t-shirt,lol. I wanted to get the developers to sign it but like I said you could'nt even talk to them.

So this was a pretty big waste of time and I was very disappointed. My friend and I ended up going to Dinosaur bar and had some great ribs a few beers and stopped by Classy Kats (a local strip club) for a little while and headed home :)

I don't think they advertised this one very well, only about two weeks notice, yah? It didn't get as much attention as the Hawaii one. Everyone knew about Hawaii, not many knew about New York.

I went to the one in Cali very publicised and yeah it was exactly the same very small cyber cafe. and well at least there was some swag at yours , at ours they had no shirts at all and you could do a boring survey to get a very poor crafted (No HQ on this one) mouse pad and a CoP poster. if you had stuck around you would have (If it was like ours)been able to partake in a rather pointless Q and A skit where we asked questions and the devlopers either had no comment or replied with...

"We are working very hard to adress that issue at the present time, and thank you for playing FFXI! Next Question."

"<Your Question here>".

"We are working very hard to adress that issue at the present time, and thank you for playing FFXI! Next Question."

Oh at ours we also got free pizza and soda. and I actually got to meet my rdm idle SHOGO! whom I had no idea even lived in Cali and hellrizer was funny as he walked around with a name tag that said jerryb.

So yeah it was cool but.. ummm... yeah.. uhhh... think I'll just stay home next time.

For some reason this hits me as hilarious...lmfao...

I'm sorry the games was a disappointment, but some sense of humor just persists through this...the two girls dressed as Mithra when the blurb in-game promises 'fun, prizes, games...and Mithra!'

It sounds like some kind of seedy honky-tonk deal, except with unapproachable Japanese developers. The fact that you then went to a strip club and headed home...lmfao.
