Chin up, San 'd Orians. So you lost this conquest to combined might of two other nations.

Personally, as a Bastokan, I always enjoyed my long signet til now (Being the few that might actually use it..)

But now this presents for everyone an opportunity they wouldn't have otherwise, to level your Windurst Fame affordably and quickly.

Up til now, you've had to zone in and out of Port Windurst for your fame, tossing sardines at a taru who could care less about the size of the creature for miniscule amounts of gil. As a young WHM, I spent nearly 3 hours doing ths mind-numbing quest just to attain a high enough lvl fame for my Teleport-Mea scroll. This being the cheapest quest available at that point.

But you do not have to go through that!

You have approximately 3 days left (Ending @ Sunday 11:00AM EST) to do the Mandragora Mad Quest, which I will explain in detail.

Leveling your Windurst Fame

1. First off, wherever you are, strip yourself naked til you're in your "Create Character"-Day Suit. If you have your Gobbie Bag quests done, great, that makes this easier.

2. Stuff all your belongings in your Mog House/Armor Storage NPC.

3. Head to Bastok Markets, and go to K-10 where Harmodios Music Shop is. Purchase as many "Cornettes" as you can carry. If you are short on cash buy as many as you can afford, but try not to break yourself. The reason why you can do this now, is because Harmodios does NOT sell Cornettes if Bastok is not at least 2nd Place in Conquest.

4. Here, you have several options.

a. If you have Rank 5/Airship Pass - take the airship to Jeuno, then take the transfer flight to Windurst.

b. Even better is if you have the Airship Pass and a BLM to at least 17, set your HP to Jeuno and airship back and forth between Bastok and Windy after you are done either loading up on Cornettes or Finishing the Quest.

c. Assuming you don't have rank 5, If you have a 36 WHM/BLM complete with appropriate teleport spells, switch to it and set your Home Point to Bastok Markets (Or Windurst Walls, if you prefer, as thats where the quest actually takes place).

d. FIND a 36+ WHM/BLM complete with appropriate teleport spells. Pay them to teleport you to Mea, choco to Windurst, etc.

Just find your way to Windurst and have the means to come back to Bastok.

5. Head to Windurst Walls to Yoran-Oran's House in E-5. Talk to him to initiate the quest if you have not already done so.

Now create the following macro:

/targetnpc
/wait 1
/item "Cornette" <t>

Use this macro on Yoran-Oran, and you can keep giving him the cornette one at a time.

6. When you are done, head back to Bastok by any means available to you, load up on Cornettes and repeat.

To check your Windurst Fame:

Head to Windurst Waters (Northern Section) @ F-10 in a place called Timbre Timbers Tavern. You will find an NPC named: Zabirego-Hajigo.

Windurst Fame Levels

I posted this out of frustration with people, having not done Windurst fame and not taking advantage of an opportunity so rare as Bastok coming into at least 2nd.

You might need it for the aforementioned teleport scrolls, avatar fights, various BLM scroll quests, not to mention is affects Kazham, Mhaura and Jeuno Fame.

So if you really need Windurst fame, please seize this opportunity.

Now if you already knew this, please ignore this post. If you didn't, get cracking on it. Invest in Windurst fame now before its too late.

You will never know when Bastok will be at this level again!

Take care Bismarck, and happy leveling.

Awesome!

I will be doing this as well, though my windy fame is already quite high from doing sooooo many quests for a change of flavour from them distasteful sardines.

Thanks!
