Well I was on FFXI the other day and my friend was camping so NM in Ro'Maeve (sp?) and some LS had tried to MPK him a few times but didnt succeed. (He had sneak up) Anyways I was thinking ppl MPK by training large ammounts of aggressive mobs and the dying right beside some innoccent people. Well MPK usually happens and the higher lvls becuase of HNM etc. and the exp loss for dying must be horrendous. Do all these ppl do is go get a huge lvl buffer then go MPK some people and then repeat the process or do they just always have some high lvl WHM with R3 around?

If you MPK you are going straight to HELL! It says so in the bible.

No seriously..some people are just bastards. Se isnt gonna make sure no one MPK's you. The only thing you can do is let others know about it so that they can avoid suck players. SE could fix MPK if they wanted to. Monsters hav a set quadrant of movement (A place where they will be walking moving etc if not in the actof being agrresive or being in combat)If Se makes it so the monsters are unable to engage or aggro unless they are int hat movement qudrant it becomes impossible to MPK. The only reason they dont do that is becasue then the system could be used in reverse by players aseeking to get throught he zone (i.e runt hrough promy area agrroing every monster in the zone so parties can come through behind you with 0% aggro.Im sure there are other areas that a reverse exploit could be effectively used) I guess SE just had to ask themselves which would be worse.

I am starting to more and more appreciate the idea of exclusive areas for MMORPG (quest areas are generated on a per party basis, so they other groups simply arent there). I know it makes the game more of a mmORPG instead of a MMORPG, but hey everyone is still in town and you get to make parties. I mean how often do you interact in non competitive ways with the other players in the zones you are hunting/exping/questing other than to ask them to move or help. Just a thought. But as it is the ability to MPK is simply an exploit in the system of FFXI. But by correcting it they would likely create a much larger exploit. I feel that part of the reason FFXI is so appealing to me is the fact that a lot of the stuff is right out hard to do. Monster agrresion keeps people from exploiting the system in a multitude of ways.

The only thinkg you can really do is religiously call DMs when you see it and write down the screen names of the people who are doing it (and take screen shots if possible) and share them with as many people as you can. That is all. Sorry for long post...I got a big head.

Yeh, they die and get a R3 and lose maybe 300 exp, which isn't ****. The exp loss isn't even on their conscious GILZ omfg -> kill {insert player name} Toratoratora!!!

I usually train Kuftal, Terrigan, Romaeve, and Boyahda but only to get to another zone without having to use sneak. I refuse to waste 18k on a stack of oils when I can just outrun the mobs for free.

If people decide to AFK at a zone then they should know better. I usually wait a bit and let the people zone if I see someone next to a zone also.

Deal. It's not his duty to ensure the safety of other.

I don't go AFK or log in to a zone where I know I will get my *** kicked. He's a jerk because he knows he is just high enough to live by running through? BS....

People exp at the zones in Kuftal and Terrigan, so training to those zones is just being a jerk. Making an exp pty wait 30 mins for your train to go back, so they can exp again.

Romaeve and Boyahda people don't exp at the zones, so that doesn't matter. I would be surprised if someone could run all the way though Romaeve without sneak and not dying.
