18 Gil Sellers called a GM on me in Ifrit's. This included Goingtoo, Kalutilla, Scarge, the whole bunch.
Goingtoo even sent a /tell to me saying "Yes I sell Gil"
Gm's ignored everything I said and suspended me for harrassment and MPK violations. This really doesnt bother me as much as seeing another seller get away with anything. The GM treated me like I was a piece of crap, and ignored everything else I had to say about the matter. This has led me to believe that the GM's are only good for protecting RMT rights and moving people when they get stuck.
Who will be on the server when this game starts to die and people stop buying FFXI gil? Probably not me after this.
MPK is wrong. Im sure Ill read a couple of posts about this. But do you really care when Im preventing sellers from getting a bomb queen ring, or monopolizing Amemet? Or fishing manta's up 24/7. Or constantly farming O.Kotes. Maybe one day ill be able to get an item without farming eyes for a month just to purchase the overpriced item at the AH. Maybe...
Next time a seller trains you, just remember that the GM will be "looking into it." So no worries.
PS: Also, 3 days ago I was fishing Manta's in Kuftal. Huofeng, a RMT, was holding Phantom Worm so his AoE would hit me while fishing. Everytime I did, he laughed at me. I called a GM and nothing was done. I dont understand. Why do they get away with this? I didnt kill anyone in Ifrit's. Why is one of the reasons I was suspended was MPK?
I have also noticed that the same GM talks to me when a seller calls a GM, making me believe they have a personal GM that deals with Players vs RMT. And the GM calls I make seem to be macro'd. He didnt answer anything, and said the exact same thing every other GM would answer with, like I wasnt even there.

Although taking actions against gilsellers is recommendable, you still have to stay within the confines of the rules of the game.
That means that training mobs with the intention to MPK or interfere with a NM fight is an offense.

What a surprise Gelly, you make a post saying how much gillsellers and GMs suck, and someone needs to respond saying you were in the wrong.
MPK them often, and constantly.
Maybe get the gillbuyers in there too. I took great joy in watching Selberus get mpk'd in Upper the other night as he was botting while I tried to camp Enky. The next night I came back he gave me space. Now if only he'd just stay away.
While you're at it, any chance you can mpk all the mercs on our server?

I went to camp the stromper chyme in ordele's cave and there was one GS at every spawn points.
I chose the spawn point where Tomcc was camping. I started camping and try to get the claim before him and even if I was close many times I couldnt get my hand on it... ( I had stun .. vs provoke its not very good)
I didnt complain to the Tom . I even /cheer him everytime he got the claim and asked him if he had the drop , etc. He stayed quiet for a while but he started to answer me after maybe 2 or 3 hrs of camping.
He told me that the drop was really rare etc. We talked briefly but still friendly. Nothing obvious that I could report to a GM but I wasnt trying to go there neither.
after 4h I had to go sleep.
The next day I went there again ( I logged out there) and he was still there.
I said Hello , how are you and all that kindly stuff. Now he answerd me right away and seemed happy to see me. He said that everyone is bad against them and that was making him sad. So he was happy to see someone friendly with him.
I whined a little about the fact that I dont have money and I was trying to get some with that NM... so he did something cool :
He said he will still camp ( proly a automatique camping bot ) but will do it from upstairs. So when the NM spawn he will be far enought from the NM to give me the time to claim it...
I said thank you and he really did what he told.
I could claim every single claim for like 5 hrs.Nobody else was there since when there is GS most people give up camping. I had 2 drops (very lucky)^.^
I was very happy.
I never went there since the update and since that drop is Rare/EX . And I never seen that Tom anymore. ( maybe banned I dk)
All in all , I dont think its a good thing to make war to anyone. Im the kind of Peace and Love person and for that time it served me well ^^
I dont say I agree with gilselling at all, but sometimes being nice to someone can pay.
I just wanted to share that experience with you all. Maybe that can help some ^^

That only reminded me a nice experience I had once and I wanted to share. That might have been the only nice person GS in the world of ffxi. Im not taking their defense in any way.
As I said in another post, I think SE dont want GS to go away. Maybe is it SE itself that employe GS at the beginning. Cause it would be very very easy for SE to track the GS accounts. There is no way they can hide from SE. SE knows everything in there servers. Even without proof , SE has the right to cancel any accounts if they want. Why dont they get rid of them ? The only answer I find is that SE gets some benefits of it in anyway.

I've said this many times before, if you're going to MPK, do it then GTFO out of the zone. GMs said this to many people, they can't prove anything if you're in jeuno when they get to for example: Ifrit's. You can just say you were in jeuno whole time. It's important to not say anything in shout or say in Ifrit's or talk about being in Ifrit's though, cause they have the chat logs. But what they don't have is a log of where you go. So STFU->MPK->GTFO.
How the gilsellers don't get in trouble, I don't know. I don't think that GMs are in on it with the RMT, but I'm betting on they just find it humorous when the RMT do it.

well gelly .. you know my feelings on this .. and dont worry you shall be avenged next time at Pahh the Gullcaller ..too many times have they tried to MPK me there only to end up with all the mobs they brought going after them .

There have been incidents of corrupt GMs; not too long ago I actually heard about some GMs fired for spawning leaping lizzy multiple times for a gilseller and suspended legitimate campers by pretending they had violated the rules (I don't think it was on this server tho). I don't know if this case is corrupt GMs who are actually being paid off to protect the GSers or if it's just a jerk who's bad at his job. Regardless, it's important to realize the GMs have bosses; if you get banned for something you didn't do after having been reported by gilsellers, you should try to get higher on the chain, whether this is a GM call to speak with a senior GM about what happened or a call to SE customer service (I really don't know which would work if either, try both I think).

Far as I can see your just about right on how the GM's work so we need to bend the rule's just a lil if ya know what i mean.
In fact if your up 2 it I say we start a riot on the server involving every able body that is willing to help. MPK gil sellers and take back our world. If the GM's bane everyone involved then we start a strike ^^.
Ok maybe its a pipe dream but you never know it may work lol

I can't say I had the GMs ban me for anything, but I do agree with you they are useless. I was in a party the other day in lower Def tower and I seen Gryffes (Yeah the old leader of Aurora LS)and he was getting PLed. My party was camped far away from him, but we were fighting the same mobs (Goblins). My puller was JP and he pulled a gambler and ran back to the party and I voked it. Well gryffes claims that was his mob and then MPKd my party 3 times. I thought nothing up it and called a GM.

sucks gelly. i was soloing for coffer keys in boyahda as drg/whm once and had some gil sellers that were camping aqua hold a mandy next to me so it would sleep my wyvern which killed me and left me with nothing to do. when i called the gm i was told, "maybe you were too close to an exp party" i responded with, "the only people in the area i was fighting were RMT and nobody exps off of mandies" and thats when i was fed the usual "we'll look into it"
but yeah, there needs to be an option to call a senior GM since we all know normal gms dont' do ****
