Is this getting to anyone else? Or am I alone in thinking that SE needs to do something about refresh. Im tired of rdm and or brd making or breaking a pt. Some ppl say theres always yag drinks but I dont think I've met a mage past 60 that actually uses them in xp pts. hell most players dont even wanna move unless theres a refresher.
gah Im ranting, just annoyed I just spent a large amount of time looking for a rdm or brd not able to find one for my group.

Refresher>> Easier >> Be Lazy >> People Love to Relax!

That was probably the only time after level 41 i have partied without a RDM or BRD.

It bugs me that people fall into these party set ups and they are afraid to change them. I was always up for a party (granted I was a DRG and usually had to wait a couple of hours for an invite -.-;;), actually one time I got invited to a six man DRG party in Kuftal... we chained the **** out of IT-- and VT crabs and made a killing doing it, around 4k an hour. I know that isn't great, but seeing as we were a party of all DRGs that ain't so bad in my opinion.

Moral of the story, you should try new things. What is the point of being in an exp party if you can't have fun in the mean time? Personally I hated those parties that didn't talk, didn't joke, got upset when someone died/screwed up, even if they did net a lot of exp. I would take a party where people could laugh and only got 2k an hour over a bunch of babies who could get 6k.

EDIT: -.-;; See like all my other posts... I can't type, I know I can't type, so don't mock my crappy spelling.

it isn't nescesary (in my pts it is I am the BRD =D), but helps and when you get good xp it makes you happy and that's the point of the game, not drama and "omg lvling this job is the suxxorz"

EDIT: and also "slow xp" without BRD or RDM is better than waiting 2 hours of potential xping for a refresher that never comes

rdm isnt only for refresh :p, no other job besides ninja can debuff as well. as for dispel, easilly solved by having a blm sub rdm.
if SE would make drinks stackable it would be more of an incentive for people to use drinks in xp, but at their current price, and space taken. it is way to much of a hassle.
i do agree on the fact that this game is to dependant on rdm and brd though.

RDM A+ is Enfeebling Magic, not Enhancing Magic.

Thanks :)

And BRD on the whole is pretty rare, I was lucky to have BRD friends around my lvl when I still played 'cause actually finding one with /sea was nearly impossible.

Well, even RDMs and BRDs want to level up subjobs/other jobs once in a while... it's gets scarier when you put most of the active RDMs from one timezone in such a subjob leveling PT, which happened last night ;)

it gets annoying beucase everyone thinks that 3 or so MP a tick is a godsend when it's jus tmore of a nice little perk. Then again i'm a smn i got clear minds out the wazoo so i gain MP back like a mother during a short resting period.

Not to be mean but i've had NA parties quit becuase of no refresher..but when I've joined JP parties? if someone is AFK..or if Refresher leaves you see someone kneeling and synthing up a few juices between pulls, they get a DD'er of some sort to come in and keep going

but oh well nobody I guess realizes that you can have a good active party without a refresher. I really don't notice it much so I never miss it..but i got like cloak, and auto refresh and stuff like that.

JOHNMA! If I had my druthers I would have a refresher (or two)in all my parties. But gaining xp at a slow rate is better then sitting in Jueno with our collective thumbs up our ******* waiting for a RDM or BRD.

** side note:BRDs and RDM are more valuable then for just refreshing MP, so I don't want this to come across as a whiney anti RDM or BRD response. Ilovethemlongtimenoshiite

Johnma.. I agree, but my frusteration comes from lack of BRDs. Luckily, I recently found one of the best BRDs on the server to static with (Mobben). Before that though, we would spend so many hours waiting for the 6th member to show up..

Yeah, you don't need refreshers to gain experience points. Without one, though, you're not going to get the optimal experience points that elitists like me prefer to get XD I'm not an arrogant elitist, I just prefer great experience points or no experience points.

Fewer than 5k an hour - I'm not satisfied. I tend to have fun in experience points parties - seeing the party function the way it's supposed to. Experience points parties are actually one of my most favorite things to do in FFXI. It's a mini-game to me instead of a tedious leveling grind. Without a BRD or RDM in the party, you're not going to be as successful as you would be with one of the two, or both.

LMAO john, youre just saying that because i never PT anymore.

while i was lvling war the other day, someone actually said "Hey its the rdm who never wants to party"

i flippin hate refresh now. granted we do debuff really well, if we didnt have refresh rdm would be on the lower ends of the invite priority, since any mage over 64 would have dispel, as well as all other debuffs. downtime sucks, we all know it, and any alternative to kneeling around for 3 minutes after every other fight is a good one, whether its brd, rdm , or in the awesomest cases, both :D

I'm all for another job to have ability to refresh, perhaps bluemage will have some sort of mp refreshing ability. we can only wait and hope :D

;;>.> You know they never said Blue Mage was the only job they were going to add... maybe they will add a Dancer or something that has refresh.

I just hate the fact that most pts will not even attempt to leave jeuno unless they have a rdm or brd. I dont remember the last time another pt member said "Oh no we dont have a rdm who will debuff?" I hear "We cant get good xp with out rdm" all too often.
I dont think another job should get refresh but maybe a item like a refresh ring with like 10 charges that whm could buy.
