Only the weak die, the strong last forever.
I don't plan on joining this one (I have one O.-) wanted to look at there "rules" (Rules are what kills most). Mainly because a good friend is in it.

Every week a sky LS is born and dies. Just because it says "HNM" linkshell doesnt mean anything. Serket,Roc,Sim dont count if you cant kill them with 6 ppl in under an hour then you might as well just break the shell. Just stick with "Sky LS" until you know what HNM camping really is.

Don't mean to sound like a **** but every linkshell calls themselves "HNM" shells nowadays and just dont understand how much work it takes to actually do the HNM's. Just getting the people there can be a real pain in the *** at times and the drops are more disputed than sky drops.

Isn't your conclusion that they're coming in and discouraging him because they're in HNMLSes and don't want competition a conclusion you jumped to? Of course it is! I conclude it is(ooh, another jumped to conclusion, I counted that one!) because I called it one at the beginning.

While we're going for jumped to conclusions, here's one:

Strazer is a NIN. He's also that guy that randomly pops on LS.

Strazer's a major player in the white slavery trade.

I want my parents back, *******.

Actually, unless I'm much mistaken, it's about pride. People could give a **** less about competition. If you don't have it, good. If you do, that's fine, if you're good enough you can still get the pull.

But, if you've noticed, the people speaking out against the new upcropping of so-called HNMLS are the old skoolers. Lunarians, IRON, AD, the likes. The ones that've been around for ages and a day, have done it all, and know how it all goes. They did with skill what these new "HNMLS" are doing with numbers.

Me? I agree with them whole-heartedly. I believe HNMLS are a thing everybody should be able to enjoy. If and only if they are skilled enough to do so. Who wants to see a bunch of snot-nosed fourteen-year-olds running around in sky claiming they're the sh[/i]it because they beat Kirin with 50-some-odd-people?

If I'm seeing things correctly, the old-skoolers see it as degradation. having been "there" and done "that", with much more skill and finesse (mind you, it did take them a while to get it all fluid), they take offence at the fact that everybody and their brother is starting up so-called HNMLS and claiming they do it all, when they spend sixteen hours a day in sky camping Genbu, or finding out the Simurgh ToD and camping it.

To me, there are three HNM. That's right, three. Fafhogg, Adamantoise/Aspidochelone, and (King) Behemoth. And, odds are, a lot of the other HNMers see it that way. They don't waste their time with piddy little things like Simurgh, Roc, Serket, et al, unless somebody from within the LS takes it upon themselves to set up a private camp. As an LS, they only do the land Gods. The "true" HNMs.

I think it's perfectly within their grounds to be mildly upset at the sudden upcropping of sky LS claiming to be hardcore HNMLS. I don't agree with their snubbing them constantly, but I think they're well-within their grounds to be upset at the degradation of what they see to be HNMLS as a whole.

EDIT: That's not saying Fafhogg etc are the only things that go on in HNMLS. There's considerably more that goes on in them. In Aurora's heydey, we did it all - missions, land HNMs, sky gods, set parties, helping people get equipment, etc etc...

well im not sure what you would consider vrtra and guivre and tiamat. but honestly everyone pays for this game they have just as much right to start their own hnm without getting crap from the older hnmls. everything evolves in this game and im sure someone will start a new hnmls that will evolve into one of the greats. now i would like to fight hnms but i ddont agree any with the requirements to join a hnmls. im not going to drop the LS im in to join an hnmls im just not that committed. all i want to do is kill hnms i dont care about drop or lses or gil. its just something some people would like to experience but due to the ugly nature of the hnmls leaders and the ridiculous requirements only a small percentage of the FFXI population will get to experience it.

Maybe I am blind but I havent seen anyone from IRON, AD or Luna posting in here, bashing this guy. To be honest, it is a good thing that people have the guts to start Linkshells and try to spend real money on websites and make a shell based on how they think it should be done. If a shell is going to work out and be successfull is based on if the leader is able to find people to support his vision. I think it is great when people take the chance and have the courage to start something they believe in. It is better to start your own LS than to half heartly join a LS whose rules you do not believe in. I dont think anyone has a problem with a LS calling itself a HNMLS, if that is their future goal. IRON, AD and Luna all started out killing the lower tier HNMs when they werent yet 75, and those lower tier HNMs like Serket and Roc serve as an execellent training ground to build the skills and TEAM WORK to face the God NMs and than the Fafnirs and up. The guy wants exposure to his website, so just let it be, no need to bash the guy for trying.

Ya know what Im all for new hnmls shells. I have been part of 2 that have tried and failed. The # 1 shells fail is because 50 ppl get a shell and maybe 4-5 of them stay on the shell and are actually willing to do things. the other 45+ pop in for a bout 5 minutes a day and say hi then leave.
Lots of ppl cant get into lunies, AD, Iron, skyangels and so forth.
New shells should be given a chance instead of everyother {******* sword} 14 year old with a lv 75 saying "New hnmls are gay" or "Why dont we all make an hnmls!"
Give them a chance and who knows with a little work that shell could be something big.

Wasn't bashing anyone for starting a shell. People need to quit taking things out of context. No shell starts off as an HNM shell tho. It always starts as a sky LS and every once in awhile you might go and get Serket,Roc, or Sim. Most likely you'll spend about six months or so in sky outfitting members then after that maybe actually start camping HNM's.

The problem with claiming you're an HNM shell and not camping HNM's right away is it kinda ruins people expectations. Doing sky for months on end will get everyone into a set routine and when you do decide to camp HNM's it breaks that routine and you can have some major problems getting people to camp on what was once a free day. Labeling a shell right off the bat as an "HNM" shell unless you actually jump right into camping them will cause problems down the road.

I wish you all the luck with the shell more competition is always good. And everyone has to remember AD, Lunarians, and IRON were all young shells once doing this for the first time. They didn't start out perfect and neither will anyone else. It takes time, practice, and patience to really do the HNM's and any shell that can manage to last that long after some of the horrors of sky deserves respect. I hope your shell succeeds and you do get out to the HNM's because it is actually quite fun camping with a bunch of people in between the pop windows.
