This sounds like a silly question...but im desprete for answers, or a way to return..

As a few of you know, i havent played FFXI since the end of Sept. I lved ot 69, and lost drive after that...and i havent played since..i ended up picking up WoW to play along side my brother, who is in the army, so, us playing is our way of hanging out, since i cant see him much...but..i miss FFXI alot more and more..but when i log on, their goes the drive to play..:( *sobb*

But i want to...i think...id like to craft, but cooking is maxed, so i dont want ot ruin that...PL people sounds fun..for like 2 minutes..i dont know what else to do, or where to turn, heh, so, here i am asking teh ones who have actullaly went through this, and how they got into it again...cuz im clueless..

Took a long break. Kinda forced into because of the baby actually Smiley: grin

Try new jobs, I have at least 3 other jobs besides my main that I like to play, just depends on whenever the urge takes me. Besides that I've taken up a new craft as well.

I play for the friendships and storyline. With my graphics card, it looks like I am playing the game through clear 60-grit sandpaper. Just as well, the daily grind can take the fight out of anyone. That is why I play for the storyline missions and when I party, I try to make them as memorable and friendly as possible.

So with that said, try shifting the reasons why you play instead of what you do. If you play because you are bored, well that means you are still bored and otherwise malcontent. If you play because you seek to have fun and meet people, you will do just that. You can always powerlevel people, which is a good way to meet some newbs and n00bs, and then you'd have a little "project" underway as you mentor them to where you are.

The game has an appeal to you as you admitted...well, rekindle it by taking action. You are bored with what you have been doing so stop doing it and do something else! After all, you can't very well expect to do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result, eh? =)

start a new character. from scratch as a completely different job than you played before.

Example: My mains are BLM and WHM, I created a new character that will either be nin/war war/nin or mnk/nin|war. basically the opposite. It's a nice change in pace.

Esp with the influx of people that will come on the 360, there will be lots of new players coming and a chance to have all that newbie fun again!

Then you'll hit dunes and realize what a mistake it was to do that and will cherish your high level character with all of your heart. :)

What do I do when I get bored of FFXI, But I still want to play it?

Something totally unrelated to actual progression.

Really, Sitting around with ls members (Like, in a circle)doing absolutely nothing, is funner that a medicore xp party.
I've played a lot of Online games, and sitting around and joking with friends is probably the best times.

I myself quit for personal reasons a while ago.
When I came back, I chose the same job, race, and model on a different server. (This one).

Wait... what if your LS is in an off hour?
Well it may be your cue that FFXI might not be as enjoyable then as it should.

I think FFXI is ment to be a fun game. if your not having fun when your playing if at all possible, Stop for a while and come back.

Another option is to try to set goals for yourself. And give you a slightly unreasonable time range to do it in.

Like, Haven't leveled fishing yet? See if you can get to 40 in a week?

Want to level a new job to 37 for a viable sub?
See if you can do that in a couple of weeks.

Hey Mas! Miss ya bro!

Some ideas for you.

Switch Allegiance and play the story from a different perspective.

New Job/Craft

Sightsee. Ask Phyree for a guided tour. I hear her tours kick assphalt.

Maybe this'll help, I dunno... I'm taking a break myself right now and don't wanna come back. I will some day, probably sooner than later. Biggest reason I'm still around is the people. Maybe just log in and chat. Sit in Jeuno yakking with the LS, see a shout that looks like an opportunity to delevel (those are the one's involving fun) and offer your services.

Hope to see you soon.
