Such A Bummer About The Ranger PopulationFollow

Remember when everyone and their mother was leveling Ranger to 75.....

Well I did a search last night on the server. 50 people of varying levels were playing ranger out of 2271. Sad to see almost no one playing the job anymore.

Only takes one person to say rangers suck to make everyone believe that. I have looked at the paladin forums and people keep saying that PLD are the next dragoon even though nothing has changed for paladin. I could potentially go and make a post about dark knights becoming gimp and eventually people would believe it over time.

Ranger was hardly gimped in exp from that update. Majority of the rangers were idiots and didn't know how to really play that job. Those that basically had themselves powerleveled through there levels also fit into that category. I've seen rangers that have wore HP gear instead of ranged accuracy gear or anything else that a ranger should have. Some have been lazy on getting their AF granted that only the body and feet are really all that is good compared to Noct. Some rangers still melee or use low level arrows. Scorpion arrows, I believe, are still viable at 75 as long as they switch to higher damage arrows for barrage and skillchains.

I still don't understand why people were so focused on doing skillchains all the time. I've had to resort to arching arrow which hardly did any damage so that they could do a light skillchain. I could do 2-3 times more damage with sidewinder which is more than what the entire skillchain damage including the extra from the MB would be. Half the time we didn't even have a black mage.

HD I'm back to leveling my RNG - 71-75 {Yes, please} and I'm still doing great Dmg. I had forgotten how fun it was. I put it aside to get NIN and RDM to 75 while the whole RNG gimp crap subsided. RNG is still a damn good DD. Too many people leveled the job the easy way.... RNG pts and never had to think about the job like Ayrilana said. Hell I also used RNG pts to get from 42-69. I have decided to finish it up and take it to 75.......then BRD is next ^^
