Myself and the other original members of Secta have decided that even though we weren't the best known or even the largest LS on the server, we need to post how it all started again. This is mainly due to the simple fact that until our downfall in spring of this year, we were without a doubt Bismarck's best kept secrets. Rate me down if you like, but here goes nothin'.

August 2003 a 20WHM at the time (Me), Tracylou (An upstart RDM), and Revypoo (Who later became Honeybuns) were all in the shell Darkknights. We had been in the shell for quite some time and were becoming dissatisfied with the fact that we had no true leadership present ever. With this in mind the three of us who had been partying and exchanging information we had picked up in our game experiences, decided that a change was in order, a drastic change.

Still very much babies in this world our first go was to become controlling members of our current shell, you know try to turn it around......AAAAAAA!!!!!!! failed. Now, filled with sorrow we sat and thought and sat and thought even more. Until finally 1 of us, and I can't remember who it was at this point said,"Let's just start our own LS!!". There it was, the beginning of something great.

So there we were three friends not knowing much of anything about anything wanting to start a shell. Our first order of business was to pick a leader, I won't lie to you my 1st vote was for Rev, his knowledge of the game still amazes me, 2nd was Tracylou, her compassion and willingness to help is 2nd to none. But at the end of the day they both chose me....why you ask, dunno, you'll have to ask them if you care to know. So the decision was made and now to acquire the shell.

The journey that was ahead was a long one because none of us knew how to get a shell LMAO (Remember that guys?). Well anyhoo, after a while Rev pipes up and tells me I need to go to Sandy, so off I go; on my way, we're in PT chat discussing a name for the shell, name after name after name, then finally, Rev spouted something out, "Secta Victoriae..means Method of Triumph in Latin" no more needed to be said. Secta got 3 votes that moment and we never looked back.

So there we were, I had finally gotten to Sandy (Now we know there's other places to get a shell heh) and we were discussing colors, blue nah, pink eeewwwww, orange nope, Horny Green (Tracylou) AAHH HAAAA!!!! We had a winner!! So finally after the three of us dumped our life's savings and took what seemed like forever to get from Bastok to Sandy back to Bastok, there we sat, three broke n00bs, best of friends, did I mention broke as hell? Anyway at this point I donned our shiny green shell next to my name and handed out the 1st 2 shells, then proceeded to take 20 minutes figuring out how to make those shells into link sacks lol.

As time went on, the three of us became even better friends, grew in level and knowledge, and our member list grew, with many great additions, the likes of Sibent, Broadway (retired), Deathsblessing, Strifer, Blitzace (retired), Johnma, and our favorite son....Gamion. The best thing about this, these names, these people, we're all still friends, at least those of us who are active. We experienced a fall out, but when the ish hit the fan, we all came together, like a family.

Now 2 years later, we're starting all over again, Sibent, Deathblessing, Revypoo, Tracylou, Strifer, and me. Not only are we back, but we're better, stronger, and smarter, so be aware Bismarck, the second coming of a great shell is on the horizon. We mean no harm and we aren't asses, but we'll be out there having funplaying the game it was meant to be played.

Rate me down if you like, but that's our story, the Secvic story.

Hear hear! Sort of reminds me of Tidus from FFX where he goes: "This is my story...". Haha I was surprised I got a mention in V.2 of the SecVic Prologue hahaha. Anyways, I'm back home(just got home 5 minutes ago), and I'm gonna be reactivating my account TOMORROW DECEMBER 22ND! Look out because Gam is back!

Ha, this is always a good one. It all started one night in Quifm, I was LVL 42 at the time and had just acquired my Honor Sword (Which I still have 24 levels later heh) and I was wandering around Quifm helping out here and there fishing etc. etc. When all of a sudden I get a /tell "{Hello} are you busy?" so I respond "Not really what's up?".

The conversation carries on and it is a young PLD LVL 21 if memory serves me correct asking me if I'd help out. Being a PLD and the simple fact that the kid was so well mannered I gladly obliged him; off to the lake I go.

As I got closer the PLD informed me, in /tells, that he was in a pt, but he was having a hard time holding hate due to an over-nuking BLM and a DRK who was just hacking away. I assured him that things do get better as more experience is gained. As I sat there I witnessed what he was talking about first hand, I was dropping cures trying to help out and the PT went into "WE GOT A 75WHM PLer!!!!" mode. Determined not to leave the PLD I stayed through chain pull after chain pull. All the while the PLD is /telling me that he he asking, literally begging that his pt slow down and give him the opportunity to get and manage hate before someone dies, if you couldn't guess, his requests were ignored.

Around this time night was coming and the PLD was doing his best to try and persuade his pt to get on to the ice island before the undead pop, yet again he was ignored. For whatever reason, I against better judgement refused to leave the PLD, because I remembered the frustration of being in PTs at that level. So we kept on, mob after mob, then finally it happened...Banshee pop right on the WHM. Without hesitation I voke the Banshee in an effort to save the PT. Well much to my surprise...they run...I sat there with my crap MP pool and PLed them and they left me, to make things even worse, I get another pop directly behind me.

At this point I understand I'm about to die lose some xp and log for the night, when out of nowhere I hear an all to familar noise...VOKE...on the banshee that popped behind me, it was the other PLD, he never left. Almost out of MP and close to biting it myself I was able to muster one more Cure which gave me enough HP to pull through, but the other PLD was finished, yet he stayed and fought. The really impressive part about this is that the other PLD not only voked to save me someone he barely knew, but he used Invincible to buy me enough time to dispatch my Banshee even though he kneew it meant he would not end this day on a happy note.

1 Banshee down, I turn just as the you PLD goes down and start hacking on the somewhat weakened Banshee, drop my own Invincible and luckily pull it off. After the battle was done I tried to find a raise for the PLD, as I did I asked him "Why didn't you run with the rest of your PT?". His answer was a simple which should make any PLD proud, he said "I'm a PLD that's what we do". His answer intrigued me so much we sat there in conversation, and we discussed lots of things, I asked him how he made gil, he said something to the effect of I don't.

With all of this in mind I knew that I had to help this PLD because beyond the shadow of a doubt he was going to become one of the greats. I told him to release to his HP and meet me in Port Jueno.

When I got there we talked more about crafting and farming and I traded him I believe it was 30K to start his new gil making plans.

If you didn't know the PLD was Gamion in the pic above. He's a fairly high lvl smith, and we're still friends, and he is without a doubt one of the absolute best PLDs on this server.

I posted this story once before looooong ago, so all of my info may not be 100%, but it's close, anyone who knows the story feel free to fill in any gaps.

/bow /salute Gamion {Impossible to gauge} {Paladin}

Oh, and with all I have been through in this game. All I have experience and all I have done, this is one of the few memories that I will NEVER forget.

One correction I must make however that I have not mentioned before now, is to do my party member justice. I do not remember who they are or even if they still play, but what I do remember is this. If anyone knows me or has even had a conversation with me, they know that I type quickly. This has saved deaths countless times in parties, when someone needs to tell others what to do when there is little time. As soon as the first Banshee popped, I had been in contact with Garek the whole time and I knew he was low on MP. I immediately told my party members to head for zone (Delkfutt's) and I proceeded to Provoke the 2nd Banshee which had since popped. This was done to prevent any of them from dying. Some might argue that they could have helped defeat the banshee, but I still believe today that the decision I made was the correct one. It was only my 2nd time through Qufim and I was unsure if banshee's had any AOE attacks. I didn't know at the time if the decision I had made was the correct one, all I knew is I would die before anyone else. It is this same belief that has greatly helped me progress in this game. It is also that very same 30k gil that Garek gave me that has helped me achieve a level of crafting I never hoped to reach. 30k...think about it. Not that much gil to any people, especially now with inflation. Even back then 30k was not that much to many. At the time the most I had ever had on me at one time was 18k, and that was just for a few minutes. This 30k helped me start an unending crafting streak that was able to fund me for 56 levels of smithing, 69 levels of woodworking, 24 levels of alchemy, 21 levels of fishing, 18 levels of clothcrafting, 4 levels of leathercrafting, 38 levels of cooking. That 30k that Garek generously gave to me, someone he didn't even know at the time, helped me get on my feet and begin crafting to support my habit.

Oh and Garek, thanks, now I'm addicted. lol!
