Ok, so I was just thinking about all this drama that happens endgame, particulary regarding losing claim on an HNM. Now, are HNM's set up that they lose aggro much quicker than normal xp mobs? If I am wrong about any of this then please explain it thoroughly for me if you don't mind. I mean, in a normal xp situation, I *never* see the mob turn yellow so it becomes claimable. If it is a simple matter of losing hate...why aren't the tanks constantly voking or whatever to keep hate up? I know there is something I am missing here because I can't see how that is possible that a tank would just sit there and not do anything, eventually causing the mob to turn yellow. Does outside forces (people outside alliance fighting the mob) using abilities over and over create hate even though they havn't done anything to get the mobs attention. I guess I am just confused by this because I can't see how you would lose hate to a mob and the only possible way that would happen is if you completely suck and go afk for like 30 minutes with the mob beating on you. With the sheer number of times I read topics about this, I find it hard to believe that the majority of players are that noobish in respect to just standing there doing nothing, so there must be something I am missing.

Sincerely Yours,

I think this is mostly a problem with Beastmasters who lose their pet and in the process of getting another lose claim on the mob. I actually had something similar last night when being chased by a wight through quifm. I took about 30 seconds and the Wight name turned to its normal yellow color making it claimable.....I still had hate but no longer claimed by me.

I think a lot of this is due to the updates to hate and fixes to MPK over the last year. When the first MPK fixes were put in, beastmasters where pissed. I know when levelling beast I had a couple instances where not only did I lose claim on a mob but it dissappeared because it was outside its normal spawn range.

regarding losing claim on an HNM.

it mearly means that that particular person/linkshell didnt claim the HNM/whatever, therefore 'losing' the claim to some other linkshell or person.
Pretty much only way hnm will be lost mid battle is if everyone dies/zones, or if bst changes pets and is the only one with hate (which doesnt happen anyway)
#4REDACTED, Posted: Jul 27 2006 at 4:27 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Because some linkshell are incapable of fighting HNMs straight up so resort to kiting which is very sloppy. Of course HNMS like King Behemoth are exceptions since meteor makes it near impossible to tank him straight up.

There are a few others ways to actually lose claim during battle.

We went to Xolotl the other night and of course Beznata and missnonos RMT gang were there and with all their BLMs and Xolotl popping withing 5 feet of them we got claim and proceeded to get Xolotl to about 10%ish before he used Charmga. Now we had people who were still engage with the hounds(Technically in battle)but Xolotl went yellow as the melee and tanks in the general vicinity were all charmed. Of course the RMT KockSukers voked and stunned to gain claim. We still even had the hounds..Nice design work SE. Of course some were pissed and made the obligatory GM call..And of course they were told the same thing as always... Can you guess?

"We will look into this matter" haha yea right.

Whatever, its all good..its all the RMT fux have in life.

Xolotl doesn't drop anything that isn't rare/EX... why were RMT there anyway?

well, kill the NM... get the Ex/rare item... and sell it to those who were camping it for an amount of money. Kinda like the sells done on BB items around Ground gods.

Or... they could be bored RMT who just want some gear >.>
