Seems like RMTers are invading social LSsFollow

Recently, I've found Pixma in Project Mayhem, Kkos and Kissm in VisaVersaIV(JP Ls) and Priests in TheSoldier.

Anyone notice anything like this?

Luckyek's in Project Mayhem as well, Pixma doesn't drop by as often anymore. As a matter of fact, they're both really friendly, and also helpful. They don't speak a whole lot of English, but they seem to have some pleasant conversations with a member in our Linkshell who's been studying Chinese for a bit.

Sure, you may be all "omg but they sell gil", but that doesn't mean they're not people or anything. Hell, far as I'm concerned, the problem's the buyers moreso than the sellers. Not to mention, it's yet to be proven that they actually sell gil. I wouldn't be surprised, honestly, but the whole stereotyping Chinese players thing is pretty low. Especially when you don't have proof of them all being sellers, unless, of course, you've bought from them. lol

But yeah, point being, I'm the leader of the shell. They both asked me for pearls, and Pixma and Luckyek are a better WHM and NIN than most of the WHM and NINs I've seen on this game after having played... way too long. It's not an "invasion" of any kind. I let them in, and I don't have a problem with it.

So go ahead, rate me down for treating everyone the same until given reason to do otherwise lol, whatever. Still, I must say, if you want to pinpoint a major problem, like you probably think you're doing right now, how about you make a list of all the buyers in Linkshells. Even though, I assume that must be a bit tougher, seeing as you don't have just one race to point the finger at.

Alittle defensive, aren't we.

If gilbuyers hung a sign around their neck saying 'I'm a gilbuyer!' like the gilsellers did, and they all started following an noticable pattern, I'll simply point it out and maybe discuss it alittle with different people. Unfortunately, they don't.

Now lets say ...hey, they(gilsellers) are just trying to meet some nice people and have fun with the rest of the population ... then you're being delusional. They're gilsellers, playing this game is their job - they don't do it for fun. Kkos tells me he maes $2.50US per million he brings in. Given that a group of gilsellers that regularly farm together, branching out to different LSs, that's enough to suspect an ulterior motive.

Given the fact that I compete against them regularly, I can tell you that that small group is controlled by 2 people who regularly take shifts. Still, it's your LS, you can run it anyway you want. At most, I'm making the alla community aware.

I agree...most of em are really nice and friendly too...
if you can actually get em to chat...

But from everything I've read most of the chinese players are
actually "working" when they play...so its not really their
fault...I can understand completely that one must do what one must
do to survive...I have no problem with them...but as with any group
there are good ones and bad...don't let an unpleasant experience taint
your opinion of em all ^^

Would this sign happen to be the fact that Chinese is their primary language, and they get more claims than you? lol

lol, how ya figure? You trying to say that Chinese players joining other LS'es is an ulterior motive to... what? Taking over the server? lmao, okay. Rather be called delusional than close-minded.

As long as they continue being as friendly and as helpful as they've been thus far, I don't have any issues with 'em. Don't see why anyone would really. I've heard all the reasons before, just never held enough weight for me to treat them different than anyone else. I've met plenty of dirtbags playing this game lol, and Lucky, Pixma and anyone else you believe sells gil, are the least of your worries :)

Can you get the sign that says "Gil Buyer" at the AH, or does it drop off a mob somewhere? Just asking...stop looking at me like that!

Quick, everybody do the Hallowe'en Event and get your witch hats! We got us a good ol' fashioned witch-hunt a-brewin'!

BURN THE WITCH! Er. Gilfarmers!

You ******* dolts.

As far as I'm concerned, if they don't bother me, I won't bother them. They cure me when I'm skilling up in Kuftal. They raise me when I inevitably die. I do the same for them. I cheer them on when they get claim for an NM. They do the same for me. I've inhabited the same areas as them for three years now, and I've yet to receive any amount of undue aggression.

All the ones I know are very polite, at the least. Sure, I can't carry on a conversation with them. But it doesn't make them any less human.

They bot, and cheat, enough said.

The fact they are RMT, meh...I know some NA people who have sold gil and made a ****** of RL money. Now the fact they sell gil for thier job you can be 100% certain they bot...if u did this for a living and didn't bot your just plain dumb.

Also, often some will want some shells to have people help them kill something they couldnt do on their own, or maybe to help them by giving them some strats on certain NMs or how to better pull/make money from Dynamis Areas. The RMT were all over Heartless Requiem dynamis and when they got all their strats they wanted they no longer do dynamis with HR, but rather farm themselves in Sandy or something.

No, not all bot and cheat. The fact is the gilbuyers hurt us more than the gilsellers. Are they a problem when they hold a certain mob under thier complete control? Yeah, they are, no arguemnt there. If they want to sell gil to people who are dumb enough to buy it go ahead. Yes, they are infact a nuessence but I won't be overly cruel to them unless they monopolize an area or an item. Besides I'm not in much of a position to say anything. Most PC users break the ToS with the windower or fraps. Do I like them? No, Will I be cruel them even if they are playing like anyother player? No, I don't like them but there is no reason to bother them, it's not like it does anything anyway.
#12 Oct 20 2006 at 8:21 PM Rating: Default
I can't say I'm not surprised over how much sympathy the RMTers are getting from this board. Anyone who's farms Sky, or items such as the Thief Knife will quickly grow hatred of them. It's obvious to see that anyone who can't recognize an RMTer within 3 seconds of seeing them simply isn't at a level where they would be a bother to them.

Of course, being outright told that they work for a gilselling company over /say is also a major hint, but lets just ignore that.

As far as being outclaimed, you can't even begin to tell me anything in regards to winning claim, not even what NM it is. Don't think you can say such useless, generalizing statements and considering yourself as to holding merit to anyone of decent intellect. You summed it up nicely with a quick 'lol' - an act frequently used by 13 year old AOL'ers.

As long as we're attacking each other, I'll throw my 2 cents on the table.

How much did your Osode cost?

I meant in US dollars.

Before I get into this, I'd like to say I'm not trying to brag or anything here. This is stuff nearly everyone that'll read this topic has done, and I'm not trying to sound like I'm better, or more experienced than any one person reading this. If it comes off that way, sorry. Just showing that you should make sure you've got your facts straight before you go running your mouth :)

Quote:

hah, the Osode belongs to Caillec, one of my older friends still playing this game. Once again, don't be so quick to point fingers. On a somewhat similar note, you should be aware that Osode has dropped to 20mil now, which, all things considered, isn't much at all. The fact that you seem to believe it's something you need to buy gil to obtain shows just how much luck you have with farming. No wonder you hate RMT so much, I almost feel bad for you.

Farming Sky and camping btw? lol, I've got a full set of Kirin pop items on my RDM char, which has become a mule now. Full Suzaku set, full Seiryu set and, of course, who doesn't have a full Genbu set. If you want proof, I can log on to Arelios and go put them in my bazaar. Point being, I've been at Sky for a while. There's nothing up there that I haven't killed time and time again, Ullikummi included. The sellers aren't an issue.

And really, I camp a lot of stuff on ground, as well. However, I have yet to see you, Ihina, just one of the times that I've camped Lord of Onzozo, King Arthro, or, hell, even Aspidochelone/Adamantoise and Behemoth/King Behemoth (I don't even set foot into Aery x:), which have all become pretty crowded by RMT. The only exception would be Sozu Rogberry, which I've seen you at a whole two or three times, and every time, you left before it even popped. Ask anyone who knows me, camping is what I do roughly 50% of the time I'm online, (the other 25% being AFK in the middle of Whitegate, and the other being EXP'ing/meriting :P) and I have yet to see the sellers as something to get in such a fuss over.

And yah, I tossed a "lol" in there. I find it funny. Point is? I've seen you lol when you /shout to everyone in Whitegate asking if anyone's doing interesting that could benefit you. Does that put you on the level of a thirteen year old using AOL as well?...lol Figures, can't even laugh in this topic without Joseph McCarthy here getting all over my ***.

Also, I like how you only got all over me about your camping abilities, and didn't even comment on the part where I asked if the "sign" they hang around their neck saying they're sellers, was that Chinese is their primary language.

At any rate, I'm done posting here. I've made my point. I'm not trying to say everyone should start accepting players that very well may be RMT into their shell, but if they're already there, and if they're even remotely as friendly and helpful as they've been to me, I don't see a point in kicking 'em out, and especially none to treating them any differently. And for the record, Ihina, I'm not attempting to "hold merit to anyone of decent intellect", that'd be giving you way too much credit.

Rant on \('-'

Well, if the leader of the shell has no problem with it, then there's obviously not a problem. Why concern yourself over who's in what shell at any given time? If an RMT was in *your* shell, and by this I mean either you've been in it a long time or you started it yourself, then I could understand you being a tad miffed about it. But, if you have nothing to do with a shell suspected RMT'ers are in, then why go and post about it?

Also, there is no way to "invade" a shell. In order to get in a shell, someone must give a pearl to the person that wants in. It's not a free-for-all where certain shells are on a counter and people are grabbing as fast as they can. If someone gives suspected RMT players a pearl, that's their own business. And if that suspected RMT player is helpful and doesn't ***** the shell out of items or gil, then there really isn't much of a problem. Certainly not a problem for you anyway.
Quote:

I agree with this. Just because the sellers post gil on a site doesn't mean people have to go and buy it.

If they aren't in your shell, then don't complain.

I've got mixed feelings about this...but mostly I just don't care...LOL. Lighten up guys. I find it ironic that an RMT'r(allegedly) are helping a legit LS and they are helping xPxMx get drops and gil for real players. But mostly I just want that new neck piece you guys were talking about earlier. Peace

Loved that >_>

Quite frankly, and although I despise AOLese, that doesn't necessarily mean they're any less intelligent than the next guy. And you really shouldn't use it as an insult when many people on multiple occasions (as was noted in this very topic) have seen you yourself use it. That just doesn't make you appear quite intelligent yourself.

The RMTs have been significantly lowering prices on the AH for some items (especially mountain gaiters) because so many different groups camp the same items, and the supply goes so high the price falls. So from my perspective they've been saving me tons of cash. >_>

The problem is the buyers. NOT the sellers. For one simple reason:

If there were no buyers, there would be no sellers. There would be no market for them.

People argue that time and time again, but why would they farm it to sell it if no one was buying it?

That aside, what was the point of this topic? To rally troops against those LSs you mentioned? Or to try to incite more rage into a topic that could be debated until SE stopped supporting the game and nothing would come about it? It's not like FFXI is the only game that's ever seen them.

The majority of RMT on Bismarck are generally rude and impolite. This applies to the members of DragonGroup LS who've called me some choice words in Cantonese while camping Ulli against them. Not all are Chinese, however, but the majority of them are. However, not all of them are rude and impolite like those in DragonGroup.

For example, the last RMT I knew camped the Archer's Ring NM in Ordelles. This was the old "Tom" group years ago. This was a long time ago before SE changed the item on that NM. I forgot the guy's name now, but I learned some things about him. He told me there were two players playing his character, himself and another person, in two 12-hour shifts. Their boss is quite uncaring and insensitive from what I learned. The last time I spoke to him he told me that his boss would work them even if they had a fever or illness. He had a high fever when I last talked to him and was still working regardless how ill he felt. The reason he got the job was to help his family that worked on a farm outside of Hong Kong. He did tell me he does enjoy the game a lot and met a lot of great people, in his best English of course. However, he didn't like how other players treated him. He didn't like the rude and insulting remarks he recieved, and wished he could someday play the game just for fun without it. However, he doesn't play anymore now and it's been two years since I last talked to him.

There are RMT like him that are quite nice, but rare to come by. Then there are others like Hoodlam of DragonGroup that are just downright rude and impolite, and they come by the handful. In my chat LS of two years plus, BubuGary, I have two members as well that many have considered them as Gilsellers. But, they are two of the nicest people I've met in this game and have known them since I started. These two didn't start camping/hanging out with other Gilsellers in Kuftal Tunnel until a year ago. The other members of BubuGary don't like RMT-ers at all and we tend to make fun of them, including those that bot and cheat in this game. However, these two players are exception to the rule since they're just generally nice people.

The hard part is to get other players to stop with the stereotyping and try to be understanding. Not everyone is a Gilseller if they can't speak English perfectly. I do agree with Arel's and Deathblessing's replies. It's just like real life, sadly enough. We can't stop discriminating and stereotyping people in real life. If there are no one else to blame, we should blame those at the cause of the problem or ourselves even.

A lot of the problem doesn't have to do with Gilsellers alone, but Gilbuyers. Remember the Inflation of Christmas 2005? That was when Gilbuyers or players with too much Gil jacked up prices all across the AH. The problem now has more to do with Gilbuyers than Gilsellers. I hope that this Christmas that DOESN'T happen again. Otherwise, expect me to be really pissed off at the goddamn rich players or players with too much money on their hands in this server.

However, more and more Gilsellers are popping up everywhere with no end in sight. They have taken over the ground HNMs and Sky now. It makes farming in Sky a damn near impossible thing to do, and it's something I hate so much. I suppose that the end of this server is when they start selling Abjurations from the 3 major HNMs and Sea HNMs like on other servers.

These are the Gilsellers you should worry most about than those that are just in chat LSes, especially when they're just trying to enjoy the game.

Ahhh, @#%^. I'm always late to these sort of things. D:

Let me start off by saying that xPROJECTxMAYHEMx was my social shell, and the shell that came up in. Fawkes is a great leader, and Pixma and Luckyek are two of the most nicest chinese players that I have ever met. Wheter they are sellers or not, I do not know. I don't have enough proof to make that judgement. And if they indeed happen to be gilsellers, so what? I wouldn't give a flying @#%^. They're still good, nice players that would go out of their way to help other people.

And...Jjay..no, wait Postal, you shouldn't be talking sh*t about gilsellers, gilbuyers, and botters when you infact are two of the above. A buyer and a botter. :D
