Am i working towards my demise?Follow

Hi all need some advice regarding the endgame aspect of FFXI. I have over the last few months stopped playing as much as I used to. This has been bought about by several things really, RL getting in the way of my virtual life mainly. This has meant my beloved Ranger has sort of become static at level 72 (and a half)

I work daytimes and get on the forums here quite a bit, and it really makes me miss playing, but once I load up FFXI and look at my TNL and just think "Damn, its gonna take me forever to get to 75!".

I'd love to get sky and sea access and check out these great hulking monsters that I associate with Final Fantasy games. But just completing the missions for Rank 6 is proving to be tricky.

As I am only Rank 5 (The point up to which I was able to largely solo the missions) getting the level 50 cap fight done is tricky, because, well its a level 50 cap, its **** ache for any high level friends to help with as they lack the equipment for this level.

Anything else they help with gladly, and I truly appreciate all the help various friends and strangers have given me when hunting NM, AF quests, Limit break.

Does anyone have any thoughts on what sort of activities would be available for the casual FFXI ranger at level 75? Anyone else in a similar situation, where their time in game is limited, yet they are still able to enjoy the endgame side of things? I do quite a few BCNM etc, but this is getting a bit old and am just wondering what else is out there beyond experience points and merit parties once I hit level 75.

Fair one, im trying to level a few other jobs at the mo, bumping 2-3 levels on a level 30 job in that time is far more fun XD



As we all started (my ls) on the 360 beta, there used to be a lot of ppl helping and to help, over time as people have dinged 75 and go off to do the endgame stuff or have just stopped playing, it has become more of an issue and the ls has just got quieter and quieter. Due to my exp party aversion, all ive done for the last month or so is help random ppl. I appreciate your offer of help tho death, and may well be giving you a shout lol. I think your right though, i could probably do more to help other people

I wouldnt worry about having less time to play, i just spent 20hrs camping a penguin NM on the ferry, and i never even saw it once :D


I know you have been needing to get 5-1 done for ages and whenever we plan to get it done for you something just dont happen. I'll organise a run for you whenever is next possible.. i need to test my 50cap PLD gear before PM4-2 anyway. 5-2 mission is a joke, me you and ghost can do that easy.

ZMs can be done in a day or two once you have found a group with enough manpower and a good guide, really you can go from ZM0 --> sky access in 48hrs.


Endgame activities, Sky, pop NMs, HNM fights etc can easilly be enjoyed with only a days playtime per week. I'll talk to you when i see you for more info.
