I got a Teleport-DEM a few minutes ago to meet up with a LS mate to head to Gusgen Mines to get him his updated Chaosbringer.
When I reach the crag, I get asked by Hainus, a level 30ish RDM by the looks of him (/anon), for 500gil.... Here's the conversation:
Hainus>> can i have 500 gil
Hainus>> please
Hainus>> {Chocobo}
Hainus>> {No money!}
Hainus>> {please}

He then proceeds to buy a chocobo and starts DIGGING with it.
So, I just had a good chuckle about this, because he probably didn't even check the price of a chocobo first off, secondly after I told him the price that was quoted to me, he came back with an insult "150 noob". So no hard feelings Hainus, but you're on my blist for being a dope XD

when will it all end?! lol. You know you see it!! lvl 30 rank 2 mentor status they consider themselves non noob newb n00bs whatever. Then they THINK they have the right to call everyone else noobs newbs n00bs lol. Gawd i weep for our future ; ;
my personal favorite is the lvl 17 war telling the lvl 17 whm to not use cure II because they have a lvl 58 whm and "At lvl 17, cure I is sufficient enough and cure II just wastes MP cause it doesn't even cure for as much". When in reality, the mob is hitting for 50-60 each hit and cure II is doing 90 HP heal vs 3x30 HP for 3 cure I's which take 3 times as long to cast.

I was farming honey for skills right outside of Windurst gates, just really chatting in ls as my 12 smn at the time

the lv17 War's comment actually true, if he means cure I is more efficent than cure II.
assuming heal skill is capped:
cure I is 30HP/8MP = 3.75 HP/MP
cure II is 90HP/24MP = 3.33 HP/MP
(actually the recover HP can be a tag higher if you have high MND and/or light day, but that's the normal cap that I am talking about)
and if the skill is not capped, cure II probably would not cure for 90HP but more like 80+HP, which actually make cure I more efficent MP wise. Personally, at lv17, even with my healing skill capped, I still treat cure II as an emergency spell.
Of course, 1 cure II is at least 2.5x the power of cure I. However, if the tank never lost hate, I don't see why cure I is not sufficent enough at that level.
Opps, sorry, 90/24 == 3.75, my fault that I pinched in the wrong number ><, but my point is that the skill not being capped is actually the main point.

I think a lot of new players lack the guidance of gil making which hence leads to begging or gil buying. It may be just that person is a just a crook, but chances are that they are new players that do not how to make money in this game.
60k is a lot for a new player to ask for however -.-
