Gil sellers, finally banned?Follow

#1 Nov 30 2004 at 7:38 AM Rating: Good
has anyone noticed gil sellers have not been on the server lately?

maybe it's just me checking or noticing at the wrong times...

but over 20 characters name i know, that i suspect to be gil sellers are NOT online these days...

oztroja is cleared of mee deggi hunters...
and ordelles is clear of the usual level 50 crowd of stroper campers...

there are quite a few lesser known gil sellers i ran into in the past, farming synthing materials out in shakhrami, rolanberry, buburimu that are not online either...

I think they're just rotating shifts. New folks coming aboard

I noticed a new slew of Ben(s) I mean it could be a fluke.

And like I said earlier, this weekend there was a huge orientation at the dunes for them. MagicAngel was out there with several other 70+ power leverlers working on new staff.

I just wish i remembered the names of the people. (I had 3 in my party and had no clue that they were sellers in training)

I went to check out that disclosure on IGE that people were talking about and I still can't believe how cheap gil is. They are definately still farming that gil. It could also be because of all the people who left FFXI for another game and traded their gil for the new game's currency.

I still think going on strike and not buying the high ticket items is a good idea. (Gives me a valid excuse why I use Deft Rings and not Snipers ^^ )

I've noticed this too, at least in Ordelle's.

I went down there with a buddy to try and see if we could get a few claims, and by-gar, we did!

At one point there was only us two, and one other person in the zone.

Multiscan and Swauems are camping the morion worm like a couple of diseased vultures. They haven't left the place in like 4 days straight. I've heard a lot of things about multiscan being a gilseller, but don't know about Swauems. I checked her and she belongs to a linkshell called HeartofEpicure, I believe. Is that a gilselling LS or does Swauems just happen to be in it? (Please correct me if I am mistaken.) Seeing as the price of the Morion Tathlum went from 30k to 72k, those two are making a LOT of gil if they continue this ****.

I know of a couple high lvl Gilsellers that their accounts we're banned. But I have noticed a decrease in Gilsellers in my normal camping spots. I am sure you all have seen the drgs in the exact same armor. Well I have noticed that their numbers are starting to dwindle.

I don't know too much about HeartofEpicure, but from my experience they are very knowledgeable players and don't reflect any sign of beinga gil selling LS. I've gathered that they are a Taiwanese/Chinese LS, mainly being Taiwanese players. They helped me with a lot with my with my AF and questing. A lot of their players on the LS are very high level, and I would highly doubt that they were a gil selling LS.

There are a couple NA players that belong to that LS, such as Amanada and Lunaleska. I believe they are both NA players that speak very good Chinese. I was praying one day they would invite me ^^...but I lack good Chinese speaking skills >< Anyway, that's the information I've gathered about the LS, might wanna speak with Amanada to gather more information than I have.

Depends on whether you consider the "Cool" clan as gilsellers, if so, gilsellers still exist...

I was hunting for my RSE Key yesterday and the chest this morning. Both time, I see the "Cool" clan running around and mining!

Ok I will speak for HeartsOfEpicure here. HoE is not a RMT (Real Money Trade) LS. HoE is more a HNM LS. Most HoE members are Taiwan and Hong Kong players, who either currently live in Taiwan or Hong Kong or are US/Canadian immigrants/expats. There are few exceptions like Littlebear, but isn't LB is everywhere? ^^;

I do speak and write fluent Chinese (cantonese), and speak broken Japanese. I grew up in Hong Kong, and lived there for 18 years before I moved to US. This is my 9th year in America ^^

hee hee... wondered how long it would take for Amanada to respond.

Thanks again for the heal in Ghelsba. Stupid dread dragon spammed curse and I had a total HP of 40.

Please do not associate Amanada with a gilseller... this is a strong in game friend of mine and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt she would not be a gilseller... and I know this because her and I have both discussed our professions... believe me, she has a lot better things to do than sit around and sell gil.

EDIT:
NOW I see Amanada's post >.<

It is possible that gil sellers will use a LS name that is close to another LS to decept others their identity (the fact gil sellers are mainly from China and they pick on a Taiwan LS may be intentional), or try to redirect hate towards them to another LS.

The gil sellers are well organized groups -- just like general/social, HNM , or Dynamis LSs.

If new gil selling people are coming in the Dunes or Qufim Island, you will do good favor to others not to pt with them.

Yayayayayayay they are going away i can afford Sniper rings woooooooooooooot. HoE is not a RMT ls, infact serveral member of their LS are in KoN as well. I'm not sure what was up with some of the cool Ls being in HoE but as soon as they found about them being RMTers they were kicked to the best of my knowledge. The large majority of HoE is Tiwanese and many of their members know eachother irl. They are good people and often very funny. Esecially on Teamspeak~! And of course Littlebear, he's a *****, <3 LB.

So if gil sellers are vanishing from the server, did Samsang leave to? I would check myself but still don't have my gaming box.

Would be nice if the GMs would do something about Samsang. I've lost count on how many times she has trained on me and gotten me killed. It's gotten to the point where I don't zone in to Oztroja without a high-reraiser.

I had been trained on by Multiscan in Davoi once when we were doing PLD AF3. Luckily only 3 people died, most Escaped without an incident.

I once slapped Multiscan in Zi'Tah, and he responded by examining me 15 times in like 1 minute.

Hey Neera, that mean you're goin back to the castle soon? I just started putting together a shopping list of the crucial items I should invest in for leveling one of four jobs to lvl 50 (Blm, Whm, Rdm or BST... still need to review SMN).

At any rate, it looks like my whm, rdm and bst would all do rather well from having my Wonder Kaftan and Wonder Braccae.

As for Samsang, how many people have reported these link/training tactics to GM's? It is, afterall, against the TOS as it directly effects the positive game play that SE has intended for all of it's users.

Please don't think I was associating HoE with gilsellers, I was just stating what I saw and was only asking a question. >.<

I'm sorry to the people who may have been offended. Just another frustrated player here.

And Amanada, thank you for the clear response. ^^

calm down people, there are a lot of sellers out there. and a lot of companies that hire these sellers...

i'm sure only the extremely popular people were banned... like the ordelle and oztroja crowd that obviously stayed there for extremely long periods of days..

and i believe some suspected gil sellers, not to be gil sellers... just players with TOO MUCH time on their hands... diligent.. but pathetic..

I have to ask because I have noticed this as well...

Strange crap is going on in this game right now. Prices are going back up from what I can tell, but the NM's aren't as heavily camped? I really believe it's because the gil sellers are in fact leaving, but oddly enough I think the real players are driving the prices up.

Just theory, but I think it is happening. And if the NM's are still camped I don't think it's IGE anymore. There are some new companies out there (I noticed Moog is the sponsored gilseller of cannotlinkto now for example). I also ran across a page about 2 months ago that was in E-Bay type format with NA people selling gil.

I do not believe that they are really leaving. They will be back in a different form >.< Even Jinboy is still selling ports yesterday.
