Updates... ><Follow

I had to reinstall FFXI because my hard drive got messed up while my computer was being shipped...

Yet for some reason, now that I am FINALLY able to get online again and start downloading patches, it is taking FOREVER. I mean, the POL update is taking an estimated 10 hours to download... that is just for the POL viewer updates! How long will the game itself take to update???

By the way, I am on my campus's ResNet LAN, which is a T-3 connection but they have a ridiculously **** process by which they allow things to be downloaded and websites to be accessed.

I am not having problems with anything but POL. Everything else I have downloaded has downloaded fine, and my web browser has no problems accessing any websites.

Has anyone else on ResNet had problems downloading patches? I mean, there seems to be no excuse why a connection such as this one should take so long to download these files. I haven't played FFXI in over 3 months, I lost my character due to this nonsense, and now I can't get on at all.
