Many say that level 60-75 takes as long to get as level 1-60 does, so timewise I would consider level 60 to be the "middle."

Technically a "high level" depends on what you are doing. For example, you can have a level 30+ person get subjob items for you, and in that case that would be "high level help."

I think objectively speaking, I would consider a "high level" character to be level 71 or higher and having the capability to go to Tulia.

You don't have to be 71 to go to Tulia. ^^ You have to understand that at 60, you'll consider 70 to be high lvl, so there's always going to be something higher (well, almost always).

Also, in the 60s it takes 30,000-40,000xp to gain a single level. I didn't do the math, but I'm not sure if 1-60 is the same amount of xp as 60-75.

Yeah, I know you don't have to be level 70+ to go to Tulia, I meant them as mutually exclusive categories. If a player pounded his way to level 75 but was not at least rank 8 and had access to Tulia, I wouldn't consider that player in the same caliber at all as someone level 71 who did meet those objectives.

I'm high level :P To actually do the Zilart missions you have to be around 66-70 depending on your job. The Z8 mission in Delkfutts can be pretty tricky. But i've helped alot of people do it and haven't lost yet! you can do Z4 around lvl 60ish but it will be hard, I still remember my Z4, it was so funny...took us 20 minutes and everyone died at least once or twice. I got owned by Flare!
I guess your idea of high level goes up as you level. I can only imagine what level 10 people say when i'm walking by raising them in the dunes or something. 90% of them dont even know what half my armor is or where it comes from. Then there are people who have more than one 75 job, that could be considered like...uber high lvl maybe? hehe

Now if only i can get my optical hat ._.

IMO...
To exp in Tu'Lia, 63+
To skill up there, 65+
To do HNMs and Zilart Missions that are there, 70+

I consider a 65+ to be a high level, when you start to get invites to help some HNM fights and WSNM.

In a lot of ways FFXI is like Karate... You don't get Black Belt until you are level 60, and when you get your black belt, it takes forever to advance further.

1) Definition of a Hi-level for me is Anyone Decked in the AF gear for their respective job, I consider that some sort of achievement, taking into account how hard those pieces are to get.

2) Also anyone that is Rank 10.....And anyone that has its AF2 (2nd set of AF), these are Uber-Hi-Levels.

3) I forgot to mention the Crafters, whom through patience and dedication and a lot of invested gil, have become masters in theirs own right and accordingly have become Hi-levels too, praise goes to them too.

p.s. I don't consider myself near Hi-Levelness yet, since there are a lot of goals that I need to acomplish and as far as it goes I'm still a Noob, lol.

LVL 75 thats it no exception. Im att 66 now and still dont consider myself"high lvl". Theres always someone thats considered better becasue there higher lvl. Ive decided to just head to 75 and dont look back. Paladin seems to have to sit out on the funner stuff a little longer than melle and mages . untill i hit 75 i wont consider myself a high lvl. Ive had freinds get into good hnm ls at 65 as whm ,rng, blm whatever and i get turned down becasue im just not high enough. sucks but i deal with it

i would consider a "high levl", someone that can
go to a strong *** place and survive, for example, maybe Garlaige, when u fall down the hole. And wen u find that strong *** NM,( watevr his name is) that looks like a blob. If u can kill it, i would consider u a strong person cause that NM's a bit?? >.<;
