OMFG NECRID I HATE YOU!!!!Follow

Okay something really bad happened to be yesterday and i thought i wouldnt post anything but then i saw another topic about him. I would just like to say that Necrid is a lying and cheating SOB.

First of all some of you are familiar with Braddock. He is a lvl 66 NIN/RNG (i think) and he holds a casino in Jueno. Well anyway i spotted his shouts about a casino and desided to try my luck. I had about 55k at the time. In about 10 min i had slowly climbed up to around 60k+. By that time Braddock was flooded with other people who wanted to play so i backed off a bit.

During this time Necrid had come up (I didnt really know him) and he was also gambling and also talking to Braddock and other peeps. He looked like a pretty cool and nice guy. After Braddock was flooded with other peeps Necrid also sent a shout out saying that he had a casino.

It was at this point that i decided to try my luck with him. So i started up with around 60k+ and placed my 4k. Lost. Placed an 8k bet. Lost. Placed a 16k bet. Lost. Finally with my almost last gil i placed a 32k bet. AND I WON.

I was like "SWEET!! HAND OVER THE 32K... wait 64k, my bet was 32k." And then he turns to me and says "Your bet was 16k" and trades me 32k. So basically i lost 28k to him. I tried yelling and screeming but all of the other people thought i was lying or joking and just laughed and ignored me. I was very VERY mad with him so im like whatever and blew the rest of my money playing with Braddock.

BUT THEN about 10 minutes later i get this tell from Necrid "I'm sorry if i got your money wrong but i had a lot of tells and stuff like that and things might have gotten mixed up." So i thought ok hes going to give me my 32k. I asked him if he would and then he says "I already gave you 32k." (reffering to the 32k he already gave me.)

So this ****** cheated me out of 28k, sends a tell saying he might have cheated, and then proceeds to not do anything about it. I know gambling is not a fair thing and no one is always going to win BUT WHEN YOU SEND ME A TELL SAYING THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE BEEN WRONG PLEASE GIVE ME THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT. He should have at least given me 16k. He is lvl 60: 32k is nothing for him.

God i hate these kind of people. If you could all proceed to hate him with me that would be nice!

You're mad at him for something you were gullible enough to do in the first place? The only gambling I'll ever try my luck with in the game is the NPC near the fountain near the Mog House of S. Sandy, or the NPC's in Rabao or Norg... I will NEVER bet with another PC as there is nothing SE can do if said person doesn't give your money back. Be glad Necrid gave you 32k... he didn't have to give you anything. Which is why I find gambling in game soo retarded and pointless... Sorry you got taken, but you did set yourself up... this is far different from the: "I gave him (items) to synth me a (item) and he took my gil, kept my (items) and never gave me a (item)." or the "I bid 10 times the value of this item on the AH and now the person won't give me back my money."

If you gave gil to someone and expect them to return gil in return, I pitty you. I live in Las Vegas, Nv and I lol at the fools who can't pay rent or bills because they tried to get that last $100 by gambling.. where instead, they should have paid what they can and worked with the individual they owe the last $100 to. Point being: "You don't gamble the money you NEED, you'll loose... Murphy's Law. Instead, you gamble the money that you expect to loose."

Give this a try next time and maybe you won't be soo taken. Be happy with the 32k... sux he screwed you on the other half... but at least he didn't just keep the 32k.

it's one thing to carry good karma... it's another thing to expect good karma in return for it. :\

Also, there's nothing fair in gambling, it's all random luck... if it were fair, do you think this city would be as big as it is in real life?

I'd suggest if you loose money in gambling, you just have to bite your lip, bend over and take it. Kinda like buying gil and not having it delivered to you but you still loose your USD... SE's not gunna help you and that leaves you just one on one with the individual who has no intent to uphold their end of the bargain.

Sux this happened to you mate, but make sure to learn from it. If you are still going to gamble, it's best you stick with those you know and trust rather than those that are quicker and more convenient. Patience is a big virtue in this game... and not just for leveling either... but for basically anything in the game.

And all I'm saying is: "If you're going to bid money on gambling, expect to loose 100% regardless of the name of the player".

Take a chill pill Krem :/ Whether SE can do anything about it or not is besides the point. Necrid made an agreement with Ruikoden, and Ruikoden is merely showing that Necrid can't be trusted (yet again). Yes, those casino shouts are annoying, and its cool that you would rather not participate in the casino thingy, but some people like it, its one way for the players to have fun, and in no way corrupts our server.



I don't see how you can say these situations are far different...

1)The person who agreed to do a synth for you was bound by an agreement too, but it doesn't mean SE has to make him give you the items back. All it means is they broke their agreement, very much like Necrid did to Ruikoden.

2)I actually find the bidding 10 times the value of an item at the AH, where the person who overbids accountable for their own actions. Its just a matter of courtesy for the gil-reciever to send the profit back. Again though, they don't have to send it back.

This game requires a lot of trust. It's almost an ongoing theme no matter what level you are, or what zone you are in. Ruikoden merely showed us who not to trust.

Yeah i do hardly ever log out. Why? Because I don't see the point in me doing it. I don't use my comp for anything else so why log out? And when have I told people they play too much? I don't care how much others play, doesn't bother me.

Wow if you were able to read out what Necrid posted you must have some patient eyes to read it. Necrid you must feel really unsecure to be threatening everyone with things such as, I'm going to post a picture of your girlfriend, or "Have you seen your picture? don't make me make fun of it". Oh and one thing, if you aren't going to post another post, then don't do it, you seem to continue too.

I may have more respect for you if you at least used proper grammar. I find that there's a trend that people who are more mature use correct grammar to communicate their thoughts.

In real-world law, if you both made an agreement whether it be orally or written, you are bound by it. This contract does not have to be written down for it to be enforced. There must be an intent to form a contract and the acceptance from both parties. There are several circumstances where the contract can be terminated and you know some of them such as fulfilling the contract or an agreement to terminate it.

I don't know if such rules apply in FFXI..., especially given it is a virtual world, but I would suggest when you trade the materials to someone you don't know, you should request a deposit in case he fails to return you the item. Personally I never ask this service of anyone I have not gotten a chance to know. It's for the trust factor...

The trust factor is the reason why I don't play casinos at all either. There is no mechanism for contract enforceability that the person will come through. The only thing you may go on is the person's reputation to be fair.

I hope the children, physical or mentally, in this game learn some lessons in this game such that trust and reputation are important in life. The world is fairly small that you might run into people who screwed over in the past who are now in the position to ***** over your life. You can't just 'run away' from it all. You can get away with some things in this game because you're anonymous, but you can't do that in real life.
