I can't remember if I've opened a thread with this request before, but if I did, I apologize.

Ok I'm still in search of the infamous Morbolger for my brown belt. If ANYONE has seen him or knows an approximate time of death, PLEASE let me know. /em flips off Morbolger's 24-36 hour spawn time. ><

I don't really need any help killing him, I just need to know when to be there. I've heard of sites showing ToDs of NMs but I can't see how that's even really feasible. Anyways, if you have any info I'd GREATLY appreciate it.

Well, Leet... I have a bit of good news for you.

My LS killed it at 6PM, EST about 3 months ago.

>.>

Okay... that doesn't help much. But I still ave some good news.

Morbolger USED to be a 24-36 hour spawn. That was changed a few months back to 21-24 hours. That makes things a bit easier.

That quest STILL sucks.

3 mos ago or not that still helps me a LOT. At least now i'm looking at a 3-4 hour window vs. 21-24. THank you. /bow

Yeah Nebz i've read so much about that stupid mob I'm sick of seeing his name. LoL. Thank you for taking the time to post that though. Too bad the ToD on that other post was for Bahamut ><. Actually, I'm glad it was Bahamut. ***** 5:30am. LoL. I like 600pm MUCH better. :-)

Well, Leet... I've got more bad news for you. That time means nothing for 2 reasons.

First of all, we killed it at 6PM. Let's say it spawned 22 hours later. 4PM. Then 23 Hours. 3 PM. 21 Hours. 12 PM. The time could be anything by now.

Also, all timed spawns (such as Morbolger) are re-set every time there's server maintenence, like we had last month.

Sorry, bro... but this quest is never that easy. ><

Yet another trial in the life of a Monk.

Anyway, here's a link to a post of mine on the Monk Forums detailing my "fun" with the quest.

How much does the brown belt go for?

350k
That's not the "ultimate goal" however. This is a prerequisite for the Black Belt quest. (yes go ahead and laugh all high level monks but I intend to at least try)

The Black Belt is Rare/EX and supposedly one of the hardest quests in the game.

I haven't seen the brown belt cheaper than 1 mil lately... perhaps thats just other's showing it off and not really selling it.

Leet, I've heard that the black belt quest is easy, on our server at least. A HNMLS pretty much holds a monopoly over the 3 NM's that you ned to kill. From what I understand, they will let you join and give you the drop for a "small" donation.

You are probably referring to Decimus, as far as I know hes one of the few NA MNKs on cerberus that has it lol. He had back when I XP'ed with him around level 70 or so in Kuftal, its awesome the damage he could do @@;

Having played with Decimus in the past, it comes as no surprise that he has the Black Belt. He's good. But there's at least one other monk running around with it. I can't remember his name, but I'm pretty sure he was japanese. When I saw him I was like level 35 and asked him how he got it, he replied with {I don't speak any English} :/

As far as I can tell, the three rare/ex black belt items are "throw away" items, so hopefully the HNM shells dont get too caried away on allowing nearby monks to lot on them. Worth a few hundred k to some, but who knows.

I bought my brown belt, but would really like to earn one to clear the way to black. Actually I'm still working on the rams sadly for the purple belt. It's amazing how many people farm those bastards still. Last time I took a pass through on chocobo there were 5-7 people ram hunting. Is thf/rng the only job with a hope of claiming a ram NM nowadays? >.< On that note, why do people farm these? Ram parts are so-so, and purple belt is what? 10k? What else is there? Lanolin cube???

FYI, the vine for brownbelt appears in a BCNM now (according to rumors), so if you dont like the 24 hour window you can always sacrifice an orb for a chance at one ^^ (A complete waste, sadly, but if it gets me closer to black belt, why not?) Sadly the new malboro BCNM is L75 party (uncapped).

Leetfade, i think your best bet is to wait till the server resets. After that all NM will pop within 3 hours of the server coming back on with the exception of some HNM. So before the server shuts down logout there and come back on and wait, its probably your best betaru. And as for Black Belt, my LS has sold the items for 500k each, a pretty good price imo considering the rediculous stats on it. And deci is an awesome dude, since good ol days of Sakura

Yeah I thought of that. But so does every other monk on the server. :-b

Hardly. Here's a trick to that. If you have a friend that is willing to help you out (they can even make some money while doing it), have them run around and kill the regular ram pops. The NMs (Rampaging and Lambert) have static pop positions. The regular rams, however, have a VERY broad spawn area. So if you were hunting Lambert, park yourself at F-9 just down off the hill and have your buddy run around and slaughter the battle rams. Maybe make a deal with them that they can keep all the horns and skins so it's worth their time too.

For Rampaging, sit just north of the Shattered telepoint on Crag Dem. The pop area on Tremor Rams isn't near as bad as the one for Battle Rams. This is how I finally decided to do it and it worked great. Man it felt good to finally whip on Lambert. :-b

I might spend a good chunk of Saturday with my butt parked in Ordelle's. :-/
