A Story... The Silver Angels vs. Zilart Mission 4Follow

So last night my LS decided to go out and get ZM 4 done.

We had collected our unlit lanterns earlier knowing that one day we would do the mission, and one of our LS mates had already completed ZM4. He had obtained the paintbrush needed to enter the den of rancor, but he couldn't -find- it in his mog house or in storage... We thought not much of it, and decided we'd head to Ugglepih and grab a new key so he could get another paintbrush.

An hour and a half later we finally get the key to drop. We let the guy who had the paintbrush originally lot on it and we make our way to the room with the paintbrush.

We get there, he gets inside the room and says its not letting him get another paintbrush. He starts to question himself and asks for a Warp 2 so he can check over his storage and mog safe again to ensure he doesn't have it.

Thats when he realized.... The paintbrush is a key item.... XD

So he quickly returns and we then head into the Den of Rancor.

We arrive at the altar to light our unlit torches and run into a group of higher level players who also were doing ZM4. We killed off a few mobs with them (both groups just called for help to make it easy). We light our torches and start to follow them.

A few minutes later, my sneak is running out. I'm inbetween 5 slimes and 2 bats. I try to do the "use oil and cancel the sneak I currently have", but, I fail to do it in time and my sneak oil has no effect. One of the slimes aggro's me, meanwhile my entire party is far away. Our BLM ended up losing sneak in a bad spot too, and was battling a slime with the others. Erryl, my trusted leader and friend ran back to try and help me. Soon after the others show up.

Everyone at this time is low on HP and MP (these slimes are no joke) and another slime and a bat had aggro'd the party. Erryl uses benediction and I follow with my invincible. I ask him to get up reraise, but he didn't have enough MP to do so. Once my invincible ran out, I start to lose HP quick. I sentinel, rampart, defender... I fall to the ground. The mobs turn to Erryl and make quick work of him, the RNGs the DRK and the BLM desperately try to kill the mobs, but all fall due to the lack of healing power.

So we're all lying there dead, hoping someone might come by. Luckily Stryker was in the area and started to tractor us all to a "safer" spot. He gives Erryl a raise and we thank him.

Once Erryl had enough MP he raises me so that if there is a problem, I can voke. A few minutes later, we had to move to a different spot because the slimes and bats were closing in. Once Erryl has MP to raise again, he starts to run back to the pile of dead bodies....... He gets disconnected en route.

This starts looking hopeless...

He logs back on, and immediately gets aggro. I voke with the little bit of HP and MP I have, but I die and the mobs turn right back to Erryl and again he is slain.

A nice level 75 BST ends up walking by, and raises Erryl again. This time he raises the BLM first, then me.... The BST and his friends stay around to make sure we're ok but they get aggro from 3 slimes and have to warp out :(

We all get raised and move to a spot where there was a level 75 party hunting so we can recover. 30 minutes later, we finally figure out where we're supposed to go and get to the right spot.

We get into the BCNM fight and all is going well. The BLM ends up taking hate at the wrong time and gets hit with Everyone's Rancor and dies.... Hate started to bounce and I couldn't keep the tonberries under control. Soon, Erryl dies, and I finally regain hate, we have two tonberries left. The DRK falls after he's unable to re-sleep one of the toons. I use all my job abilities I can to keep me standing, and use every last ounce of MP... The RNGs finish off the BLM tonberry, all thats left is the SMN toon and his Elemental, who uses his 2HR and I fall to judgement bolt. The RNGs 2HR and keep beating him down... At the end of the fight, only one of the Rangers was standing, but we had won.

I think a great time was had by all, even though we had died a few times and wasted a couple hours in the beginning.

For those who are doing ZM4, make sure you know where you're going, who has what, and bring PLENTY of sneak oils and prism powders.

I think I will go open garliage 3rd gate instead.

after lvl 75 pld died 3 times on the way, 4 d/c due to se's system, and general hysteria :D
