COP MissionsFollow

It is apparent that alot of people are getting lost and confused with the COP missions after they beat the one Prom they need, or joined the bandwagon to Phonomia Aqueducts. I get tells all the time for people with questions on what is the next area to go to, or whats the level cap of such and such, and/or what is the next BC boss we gotta fight, and/or if I can take them on my next COP run I do.

Clearly, I can't arrange every single person's COP missions that needs them. I've been taking many people through proms because it was convienient that certain people needed them along with others. Like, it would be a waste of many people's time if 5 people that had a prom done were helping only one person with Prom X Y or Z. I also go out of my way to get animas for each scheduled prom I've done, often dragging reluctant people that felt there were more important things to do in the meantime (such as exp'ing). Animas help. Alot. They totally negate the need for a WAR/NINx2, RNG/NINx2, SMN, WHM party as many people will tell you, if everyone has some and knows how to use them. I always feel the safest with RNG's over SMN's because they do steady consistent damage, while SMN's damage only comes from their two hour, and it sucks when the avatar misses because the monster moves, the avatar is asleep or paralyzed. In any case, Anima's are a life saver.

The biggest problem with these COP missions, is people get discouraged from doing an arduous task such as climbing four levels of aggro-rific areas, then finally make it to a boss they have no clue what it does. Then, they fight the boss, unaware of it's special attacks, or come unprepared (no meds, level cap gear) and lose to it. Not to mention the fight requires tremendous stragety and positioning, particularly Mea and Holla. With animas I've taken crazy party setups that looked like *gasp* an EXP party (WAR/NIN, DRK/WAR, PLD/WAR, BLM, WHM, RDM).

Square-Enix has always been vague with their missions and quests (Like, this one time I did a quest in windy I had to get a library book from a mithra in windy, but it turned out it was someone with similar spelling in Sandy - how am I supposed to know that????).

However, there have been guides online for some time, albeit some of them being vague and misinformed. The key is to have as many people as possible to look these missions up where SE failed to help us. Another problem is also the exploration method. SE has made it so you can't maps of certain areas in advance (i.e. Quicksand caves when I went their to level) so we have to "have fun" and "experiment" and "find our own way" through all these COP level capped areas. Don't get me wrong, I think the level caps were a brilliant idea, so you can't take like 6 75 BLM's, and storm these areas, with the recent influx of those god-forsaken BLM exp parties.

Anyway, as successfully as SE has made these missions as a haven from gil-sellers (gee, like banning them wasn't the smartest idea I've heard), we must now use our own mind and talents to beat these unforseen bosses that lie ahead.

The purpose of this thread is to raise the confidence of people who need COP's done, and to gather them together. I would be willing to help as well if I have time ready and the team is prepared and willing to beat this. Nothing upsets me more when I am the only person to bring meds and level cap gear, and I am the only one that doesnt need COP Misson X.

What I would like to do is have everyone post which COP mission they are on. My purpose for this is to bring more people through these areas so we have more people further in to help our friends on the further in missions. I don't mind taking whatever jobs through areas like Phonomia where there isnt an ending BC, provided we have some tanks, or some DD's, or some support. This doesn't mean, any job combos will work for future COP BC's. The proms, by far, are the easiest BC to bypass if everyone has animas. You can't anima your way through Riverne's in the same fashion, and nothing helps you in Pso'Xja for the BC aside from meds. They do require common sense job setups as well as going back and farming for level cap gear. Yes, boo hoo, I know you like your AF but I'm sorry, you'll have to go spend your money like the rest of us. These are all team effort missions.

This also doesn't mean, just because 5 other people are spending an extra 10k-20k on meds, so you can weasle your way through a fight, leeching of your friends expenses. This is a team effort. It is the same with animas. It's unfair that five other people farmed recollections and just because they have plenty, doesn't mean you can cash in on their time.

Currently, I am on Riverne Site #B01, a level 50 cap area. My jobs, as per this post include:
57 WHM
45 THF
41 RDM
32 BLM
31 NIN

I am still leveling jobs so I can accomodate for COP missions as other people have been unable to, with their MNK or DRK or RDM being the only job they have past 40. I'm sorry if you don't like leveling anything besides your DRG or THF, but these missions require alot of stragety and/or money for meds. You can't take your prom parties if you all got by with animas with the exact setup up to the level 60 cap airship BC. In some cases, positioning yourself in the fight is key. I love the fact that you can change your jobs when you get bored with one. My greatest reason for playing this game is being able to change to different jobs with the same character.

So please post your status on these missions. If you see someone post that has the same prom you need, you can arrange something with them, and I might be even able to help provided you have at least 4 people or something and we all work together as a team. I am only one person, so I also ask other people who have made it as far as me or further to pitch in and help collabarate a movement through these COP missions. I can guide an alliance through Phonomia easily if we have enough people since there is no boss fight where you need to break your party from the alliance.

Another issue with these missions is that they are time consuming and scheduled on someone's working hours, or whatever. This is why it's important for people to go back and help people on the completed missionss.

I will post more with specifics on each mission as I am going to work noow. In the meantime, I will leave a link to COP strageties.
